Cornerstone Institute of Ministry

CIM LogoCornerstone Institute of Ministry: Equipping Champions for Christ will begin a brand new school year on September 7th, at 11 a.m., and 8th, at 6 p.m. We will be offering a new class, Old Testament Survey II.  The course will cover Psalms through the minor prophets.  In this class we will discuss the major archaeological discoveries of the Old Testament setting and its impact on the scriptures.  On September 8th at 7 p.m. we will be offering a new class titled The Anointing and How to Receive it.  The course centers on the Old Testament characters of Elijah and Elisha.  This study will help you recognize and experience the anointing in your life.  If you would like to register or obtain additional information about this class, please see the CIM section of guest services.  Here is a great opportunity for you to grow in your understanding of God's Word and how to apply it to your life and ministry. Enrollment for the new classes begins August 10th.

Also, we will be holding a Diploma of Theology Ceremony on Wednesday August 20th for those who have completed their first full year of courses this past year.

A Message from Pastor Forsthoff
Pastor Tim and Rhonda
Jesus' teachings on tragedies.

Having a hopeful response in a time of crisis is essential.  Remember in every situation God promises that He will turn things to work out for good.  Here are a few key points you can remember to insure that a time of crisis in your life can accomplish what God wants it to.  1. Remember to shine your light, through prayer, compassion and hope.  2. Be slow to judge.  Don't readily blame others for your crisis.  3. Be quick to repent.  If there are things in your life that are keeping you from God confess them and lay them down.  Make sure your life is right with Him.  4. Build your life on the Rock.  Remember that when you are built on Jesus He promises to keep you and work all things together for good.  Jesus is the rock that circumstances can't move.

Cornerstone's Choir: One Purpose. One Passion. One Voice.

ChoirWe are excited to announce the beginning of a new choir season here at Cornerstone.  This year we are striving to make it fresh for all those that love worshiping the Lord in song.  In order to do this we will be moving rehearsal times to Sunday Mornings during our 2nd service,  from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 in the I.C. Coliseum.  We will be redesigning the rehearsal format, and learning minimal new songs, to make it easy for anyone to join the choir.  The new season will begin on September 7th.

Also, we are currently looking for some testimonies of those that perhaps started coming to the church, or got saved, through the outreach.  If that is you or someone you know please email your testimony to Sue Cone at scone@cornerstonehighland.com

A Changed Life

It's amazing when God comes into our lives and changes us in a real way.  When that happens the first step you can take to declare your life to the world is to be baptized.  Congratulations to those who were baptized this past month: Estevan Contreras and Allissa Claphan.  If you would like to be baptized, join us for our Baptismal Class the first Sunday of every month during the 9 a.m. service.
