Law Enforcement Torch Run UpdateJune 2010
Summer Games is only two weeks away, which means we have lots of updates on Final Legs, 09 SG ceremonyCelebration Ceremonies and Summer Games opportunities!

Summer Games and LETR Experience Information:
Summer Games and the LETR Experience will be held this year from June 17-19 at the University of Minnesota Bierman Field. Opportunities for Law Enforcement at Summer Games include:

Volunteering at LETR Plaza - hand out awards, have your vehicle on display, sign autographs for athletes, and much more!

Final LegCelebration Ceremonies - on Friday evening, June 18, officers from around the state will complete the Torch Run journey and run the Flame of Hope into Celebration Ceremonies. Hundreds of athletes, coaches, volunteers and fans will be cheering officers on as they make their entrance to the Ceremony and light the caldron. This is a can't miss experience and the highlight of Summer Games! The Torch is run into the Ceremony at approximately 8:10 p.m., and all Law Enforcement are asked to meet at LETR Plaza by 7:30 p.m. A BBQ dinner is also provided from 5:30-7:15 p.m.

LETR Celebration - Following Celebration Ceremonies, Law Enforcement and their families are invited to Sally's Salloon and Eatery on the U of M Campus for a Torch Run Celebration. Snacks and drinks will be provided, and a chance to interact with your fellow Torch Runners - be sure to stop in and bring others from your department!  Hotel Rooms are available for that evening at the Radisson Hotel (615 Washington Ave. S, Minneapolis) for $50 for law enforcement.  Reservations must be made by June 7 by calling 612-379-8888 and referencing the Law Enforcement Torch Run block of rooms.

A flyer with more details on Summer Games and LETR Experience as well as an RSVP form is available at the Final Leg page - be sure to download and post in your department and help spread the word!
