So You Think You Can Plunge? (into Round Lake)
Dear :

With only a few days left until the last Plunge of the year, the 2010 Eden Prairie Polar Bear Plunge, it's time to dig a ridiculous costume out of your closet if you haven't already!

We are breaking Plunge records every day and continue to see an increase in participation. The athletes of Special Olympics Minnesota challenge you to get one more friend to take a chilly dip to make this year's Plunge a record one for Eden Prairie!

It's Not Too Late to Collect Pledges Online!
Log in to your Plunge account, copy and paste your Plunge Web address into any social networking site and send a Personal Pledge Invitation to friends and family to remind them you're taking the Plunge this weekend. Donors can also mail donations to the Special Olympics Minnesota State Office, and you can turn in cash and checks the day of the event!

Pre-Registration
Friday, March 12 from 5-8 p.m.
American Legion
290 Lake Drive East
Chanhassen, Minn.

Team captains may check in their team members if they have the following for each member:
· signed waiver
· all cash and check donations (checks can be written out to Special Olympics Minnesota)
· desired incentive and size
· completed brochure (only if participant did not register online)

Only attend the pre-registration event if you are finished with your fundraising efforts. You will be given your incentive based on the amount you turn in at pre-registration and will not be able to change the item later. If you completely check in at the pre-registration event, you do not need to check in the day of the Plunge and can arrive in time for the event.

Plungers will be able to sign up for a time slot at pre-registration or day-of registration. Plunge times are first come, first serve.

Photographs
CL!X Portrait Studios will have action photographers taking pictures of all Plungers prior to the event and during the chilly dip! The CL!X photographers will wear bright orange vests with the CL!X logo, so you can easily identify them if you have a picture request.  Photos will be loaded to the CL!X Web site the day following the event. All photos are printed and mailed within 24 hours of order receipt.

First-Time Plunger?
First of all, congratulations! Now, take a moment to read our list of Plunger FAQs and Tips for First-Time Plungers.

Safety Tips
· All Plungers must wear shoes.
· Bring a towel.
· Plunge participants are advised not to consume alcohol prior to the Plunge. Intoxicated people will not be permitted to Take the Plunge.
· Diving or flipping into the water is prohibited.
· Each Plunger must sign a release of liability waiver prior to participating in the event.

What to Bring
· A towel: Towels are one of the incentive items, but Plungers are encouraged to bring their own in case we run out, or you don't reach that incentive level.
· Old sneakers/velcro sandles/aquatic shoes: You will have to walk on the ice and sometimes wait a moment for others to jump, so please bring and wear an old pair of shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Don't forget dry kicks for after you Plunge! Make sure your footwear is secure and will stay on your feet when you jump.
· Duffel bag/backpack/garbage bag (to keep wet separate from dry): Bring a bag with you for dry clothes and to place your wet clothes in when you are finished Plunging.
· Dry clothes: After your Plunge, it's nice to have some warm clothes for the journey home!

Don't Forget
· Even if you registered online, you still need to check in before the Plunge in order to turn in additional donations, collect your incentive, sign a waiver and receive your Plunger wristband.
· At registration, Plunge volunteers will have a list of online donations made in your name. This list will only be accurate as of four hours prior to registration, so if you have any last-minute online contributions, please print a copy of your Plunge page that shows your donations. If you aren't sure, bring a copy just in case!
· Any last-minute Plunge updates will
be posted to the 2010 Eden Prairie Polar Bear Plunge
page.
· Costumes need to be appropriate and non-discriminatory.

Thank You!
