You Are Invited!
The Alcoholism Center for Women
invites you to join us for the
unveiling of
five vibrant, life-affirming murals
celebrating the prevention of, and recovery from,
alcoholism and other forms of substance abuse.
The award-winning internationally acclaimed artist,
Calixto Sibaja, presents
"Freedom,"
a beautiful, poignant, inspiring mural
that is a celebration of women,
a celebration of diverse cultures,
and a celebration of women
freeing themselves from addiction.
This mural, which graces the outside wall
of the Miracle house,
has already provided an
atmosphere of encouragement,
and uplift for our clients,
and for all who experience it.
In addition,
Calixto oversaw the creation of four heartfelt murals
designed and painted by teenagers from
our Prevention Program.
The scenes depicted in the mural represent the life challenges they face living in Pico Union and ACW's role in helping them through these challenges and how learn to make positive new choices.
