Patriots and New England Revolution players spent the afternoon here at Community Rowing with children from Massachusetts Special Olympics and West End Boys and Girls Club, as part of the Patriots' week-long focus on youth-sports volunteerism in conjunction with the ongoing Celebrate Volunteerism initiative of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.
New England Patriots Nate Solder, Michael Hoomanawanui, Jeff Tarpinian and New England Revolution's Darrius Barnes, Tim Murry, Alec Purdie and Clyde Simms participated in learning rowing technique, played rowing games, announced winners and awarded prizes.
Following the games, a special ceremony was to honor Jim Church,

Men's Masters and Juniors's Textile News
Notes from Coach Marko Vukovic
|
Three full trailers of boats made their way up to Lowell, emptying the boat bay this past weekend. On the men's, and jr. men's side:
- Masters Men's 8+, (cox: Marjorie Bell, Olivier Schueller, John Randle, Peter Donohoe, Andrew Milia, Paul Flack, Kevin Dutt, James Coyne, stroke: Peter Beaman) came away with a very close second place finish behind Riverside boat club's younger masters eight. - Jr. Men's coxed four B entry, (cox: Emma Siegenberg, Jarrett Gorin, Samuel Lessin, Zechariah White, stroke: John Gleason) took a great 4th place in the field of 37 boats. - Jr. Men's first eight, (cox: Kristina Tagliente, Ricky Swanton, Mike Giroux, austin heye, Ari Cohen, Brendan Buckley, Curtis Mahan, Henry Dickinson, stroke: Thomas Berman won their event in the field of 57 junior men's eights, behind them leaving the programs like Chaminade High school, Essex RC, Fordham Prep, St. John's HS, Hingham, Wayland-Weston, Sagamore RA and others. Worth mentioning is also that our crew had the third fastest overall time of the regatta, getting edged out only by Northeastern University Alumni eight rowing under Gentle Giant Rowing Club colors and the Wesleyan University varsity boat. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of result this crew will produce at this year's Head of the Charles regatta in a few weeks.
