'Breakfast of Champions'
Row Boston Mayor's Cup Regatta Winners Celebrate

On Saturday, May 12, the winners of the Mayor's Cup Regatta, which took place back in October, were invited to attend the 'Breakfast of Champions'. The breakfast was held in the State Street Pavillion at Fenway Park.

Row Boston athletes Josalyn Santangelo, Madison Niles, Tushane Levene and coach Kristen Wolsieffer attended the celebratory event, enjoying the morning with other Mayor's Cup winners from across Boston (and of course Red Sox Mascot, Wally and Bruins Mascot, Blades).

Mayor Menino greeted everyone with congratulations and encouragement to continue succeeding in both school and sports. Alumni from the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, US Women's Soccer and US Paralympic Weightlifting were present to share advice and fond sports memories with all the athletes.

Everybody seems to have had a wonderful time -- A special "shout-out" to "Team Style-Driven" for winning the night's Trivia contest!

Track Your Fitness This Season
Start with VO2 Max Testing

Are you looking for a personalized way to track your fitness this year? Start your season with a VO2 max test!

The test is a 10-12 minute, rowing specific, step test designed to measure your maximum aerobic power. This value indicates how much work you can do while remaining aerobic. If you are able to remain aerobic at a high workload, you will be able to continue to hold that pace for a longer period of time.

Tracking and training this system gives a rower a huge advantage over the course of a 1k or 2k race!  Each test comes with a one-on-one consultation with our exercise physiologists, Dr. Andrew Taylor from Harvard Medical School and Glen Picard from the ExPD program, who will review your data and make training recommendations based on those values.

Discounted tests are still available but are going quickly. Please contact Judith Vogel for more information!
