The Coaching Education Symposium Series at Community Rowing Inc. is pleased to host

with his presentation titled:




Solving Erg-itis, Crab-a-Phobia, Quiet-Coxswain: Sport Psychology for Rowing Coaches

ABSTRACT: Adam will facilitate a discussion about creating a sports team culture that fosters confidence, resilience, and quality practices. Current trends and findings about optimal competitive perspectives and attitudes will be presented along with rowing specific sport psychology information. This discussion will give coaches the opportunity to further recognize productive mindsets in athletes, and to add to their skill set regarding developing a climate of mental toughness.

 

PRESENTER BIOAdam NaylorDr. Naylor is the director/sport psychology coach for the Boston University Athletic Enhancement Center (AEC). He has experience educating Olympians, major and minor league professionals, competitors in major collegiate conferences (Hockey East, ACC, Big West, Big Ten, Ivy, WCC), and elite juniors towards their goals. He is one of the developers of AEC's Complete Rower program and has served as a resource to high school, collegiate, and national level rowers and coaches. He has lectured and published regionally, nationally, and internationally on sport psychology, coaching, and player development topics - of recent note is his serving as Sport Psychology and Counseling column editor for the International Journal of Athletic Training and Therapy and published Priming Performance, a mental skills workbook for athletes.  He can be contacted at ahnaylor@bu.edu and followed on Twitter @ahnaylor.
