Corporate Row and Private Event Tonight 

 

Tuesday, June 14th
CRI will host Louis Vuitton for a Corporate Rowing team building event tonight starting at 6pm. The event will limit dock use between the hours of 6-8pm. Dock #4 (the sculling & adaptive dock) will be open for use.
The event will continue under a tent on the gravel outside of the BC side of the boathouse until 11pm

Youth Nationals Results  

 

The CRI Junior girls prevailed once again at USRowing Youth Nationals in Oak Ridge, TN. The Junior Women's Lightweight 8+ (Mighty Lighties) won gold for the second consecutive year. Congratulations to Sassi Ruenger, Avery Mushinski, Juliana Orlov, Ellen Barrett, Elizabeth Barnett, Jessica Pederson, Margaret Ciocca, Emily Cetlin, and Jenny Wong.

 

Prior to taking gold in the Ltwt 8+, Ruenger and Barnett, took a trip to the podium for their first gold medal in the Ltwt 2x. The duo won the race in a time of 08:06.07.

 

Capping the day on the girls side was a strong bronze medal finish in the Junior Women's 4+. Elizabeth Tadiri, Martha Cosgrove, Andy Howell, Lydia Keating, and Allison Nagle finished in 07:01.84. Congrats girls!

 

The Junior Boys team represented CRI at the 2011 event too. The boys had strong finishes in the Junior Men's Ltwt 4+ final Junior Men's 4+, Junior Men's Ltwt 8+.

 

CRI wishes all graduating seniors who will not be with us this Summer the best of luck in their colliegiate rowing careers. 

 

  

Derby Sweeps & Sculls Race Results  

 

The New Haven Rowing Club hosted the 12th Annual Derby Sweeps & Sculling Race this past Saturday.
 

The sprint race along a straight 1000 meter long course, running upstream and finishing at the southern end of Indian Well Park, was attended my the CRI Men's Competitive Team.  See results below.

Head of the Charles News

 

Over the last 5 years CRI has helped to recruit new HOCR Umpires for the Head of the Charles. We hope to continue to send our rowers down to HOCR to help run this historic event. 125 umpires are needed to mark every foot of this very torturous racecourse. HOCR will train you and see that you have a great experience!

Help House a Rower  

 

The Newman School is seeking housing for an International Student starting in the Fall. A strong student with an interest in physics and astronomy, this 17 year old would like to row for Newman. Ideally, housing will be near the CRI boathouse.  If interested, please contact Harry Lynch at Newman School, hlynch@newmanboston.org.
