Contact Coach White: [email protected] John Sisk John started his rowing career on the Hudson River with F.D. Roosevelt HS way back in the age of wooden boats and oars and continued rowing sporadically with the Marist College team. Contact Coach Sisk: [email protected] Brent BodeBrent comes to CRI after completing his graduate work in Exercise & Sports Studies at Smith College, while coaching scholastic novice and varsity crews for Northampton Youth & Wellesley College. Before he started coaching, Brent discovered his need for speed and fascination with human performance while rowing at Dowling College. He fortuitously landed a seat in Dowling's acclaimed '96 lightweight 8+ (2004 Team of the Year), and was an early part of Dowling College Crew's rise to top honors at the Dad Vails. That success was closely backed up by a bronze medal at the Indoor World Rowing Championships (Crash-B's). Brent's rowing philosophy is simple: Sit down, be quiet, and pull on the stick as hard as you can. Contact Coach Bode: [email protected]Judith VogelJudith coaches Learn to Row and Crew League at CRI and also coaches at Riverside Boat Club. She began to row at Taylor Allderdice High School (Pittsburgh, PA) in 2001 and went on to row as a 4 year varsity member at Carnegie Mellon University, where she was team captain her sophomore year. She graduated in 2009 with a dual B.S. in Psychology and Biology.
From 2007-2009 she coached the Three Rivers Junior Novice Team (TRJR) during the school year and several Master programs during the summer. Upon graduation in 2009 she moved to Ann Arbor, MI to coach the Varsity Women at Huron High School, the developing Northville High School Team, and the Ann Arbor Rowing Club (AARC) Masters Program. In the summer of 2010 she moved to Boston for an internship at Riverside Boat Club with the Lightweight men's High Performance Group. She stayed on as a coach for the program after completing the summer internship. This is her first season coaching the Sweeps II program. Contact Coach Vogel: [email protected]

Swim Tests are a Must!
Rowing takes place on the water, and while falling out of the boat is unlikely, it is possible. Therefore, each CRI rower must prove his or her ability to swim. A certified lifeguard must confirm in writing that you are able to swim 100 yards and remain afloat for 5 minutes before you are permitted to row in club boats. For your protection, and the protection of Community Rowing, we make NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. Swim test forms can be found on the CRI website.

What to Bring for the First Day?
Dress for the weather! Today it's snowing, tomorrow it is going to be over 50 degrees. You just can't predict this New England weather. The best advice is to dress in layers and bring a change of clothes for after practice. It's also a good idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, and a water bottle.
Also, if you have not submitted payment for your program please make sure to bring a check to submit to the front desk.
