Boat Dedication
On Sunday, as part of CRI's 25th anniversary
celebrations we dedicated a four to the women who rowed on US National Teams in
the years before CRI was founded.
These women opened up rowing and racing to women, and made an
organization like CRI possible. Ann
Robbart, Kathy Keeler, Holly Metcalf, and Ellen Minzner did the honors.
DETERMINATION
Determination: what a rower needs to overcome the pain
and the nerves and win the race Determination: what women who loved rowing, working
hard, and going fast needed to create a place to race in the international
regatta schedule Determination: what it took to create a public
rowing club in Boston and sustain it through its nomad years Determination: what built and paid for a beautiful
permanent home for our community dedicated to rowing Determination: what we will need to nurture and share
the gift of rowing with all for years to come
