'ROWING FOR ALL' REGISTRATION STILL ENROLLING
Community Rowing was founded on a principle of making the Charles River accessible to all. In the early days people would show up at the the rink or Harvard Boathouse (a long long time ago) and make boats based on who was there. Community Rowing finds itself in a very different place in 2009, new boathouse, new participants, new staff, new equipment. Everything is so new we decided to bring something familiar back. This fall we will have a Rowing For All program. Adults from the comp teams, sweep teams, sculling, personal boat storage can sign up and come down to row. Think of it as a reminder of our beginnings and a chance to get back to what brought us all here; a great community based on rowing.

Adaptive Rowers Participate
in the HOCR

Cheryl Egan's Race Report:
Special thanks to IROW for making this incredible opportunity a reality! CRI's commitment to the adaptive program, along with the hard work of the coaches, volunteers, family and friends who all supported this endeavor made it happen with great success-we could never have done it without all of you. Rowing the Head of the Charles course on race day, wearing new hats given to us by IROW, announcers calling our name at the start and passing CBC, our boats ready to get into at the start and out at the finish, all made this A RACE OF A LIFETIME. Thank you for this incredible experience-it is the first of many to come for the Adaptive Program and I feel privileged to be a part of it.
And the results:
Grace: 28:47 (average age 33) - with Cheryl Egan
Kristina: 29:54 (average age 23) - with Annie Coppack |

Filming at CRI and on the Charles River
Thank you to all rowers in the CRI community for their patience while we host "The Social Network" movie production. Unfortunately, we don't have ANY control over the river openings or closings, it is entirely up to the DCR and the State Police who have an agreement with the movie production. We will try and give the most notice we can about when the river will be closed.
