CRI COMP WOMEN KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS! Article by KariAnne Kulig, Comp. Women's Team
Community Rowing Inc.'s Competitive Women's Team had another successful weekend of racing over the recent holiday. The Schuylkill Navy of Philadelphia hosted its 129th annual Independence Day Regatta, and CRI competed on Saturday and Sunday in a variety of events. Sunny skies and temps in the low 80's were perfect conditions for 1000 and 2000 meter sprints, although the wind and current changed up the course a bit. First place watches were awarded to the Women's Masters B 4+, Women's Masters D 4+, Women's Masters A 8+, and Women's Masters B 8+. Traditional rivals Capital Rowing Club and Alexandria Community Rowing did not disappoint, and many other races had strong 2nd and 3rd place finishes. Another CRI rower of note, Brian Wettach of the Jr. Men's Team, took home 1st place victories in the Intermediate 4+ and Intermediate 8+ in the Jr. Men's Development Camp boats. Go CRI! |
