Welcome New Members!
On behalf of the CRI Board Members, Trustees, and Staff, we WELCOME YOU! Please know we are working hard to make your rowing experience with us a memorable and enjoyable one.
As a program participant you are considered a member of our community and we encourage you to volunteer in any way that you are able. Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends and become more involved with CRI and how things work around here.
We encourage you to visit our website to read about CRI's humble, yet impressive beginnings. Click here. With 1,500 members rowing annually out of our new Harry Parker Boathouse, we rely on all CRI members and their many talents, to assist us throughout the year on small boathouse projects, planning committees, or as event staff, event coordinators, and volunteer coaches and coxswains for our outreach programs.
Right now, we are preparing for our member run, Garage Sale on May 30, 2009. Details are below in the Garage Sale post. The Garage Sale Committee is made up of twelve CRI members from several different CRI programs including Sculling 1, Log Book Sculling, Comp. Youth Parents, Adult Learn to Row, and Sweeps 2. The committee is looking for volunteers to help during the Garage Sale event on May 30th. They are also looking for people to DONATE ITEMS to sell. Again, please see post below for details.
Right now there are three committees that you may also be interested in joining.
Lastly, check the CRI website for current Volunteer Opportunities for projects around the boathouse. Click here
FINALLY, be sure to check out CRI's Online Calendar to see what exciting CRI events are coming up. For example, next Tuesday is our monthly Vespoli Coaching Education Series. Everyone is welcome. Click here to read more about the presentation next Tuesday evening at 7pm.
Have a great spring season! See you around the boathouse. |

CRI Alumna Opens "Boathouse Deli"
CRI Alumna, Rachel Garabedian and her parents Annette and Ardo Garabedian have recently opened The BOATHOUSE DELI on Western Ave at the Irving station. (500 Western Avenue Brighton Ma 02135)
The Boathouse Deli is dedicated to all the boathouses along the Charles River, and is a great place for all those rowers to eat well and healthy after a long day out on the River. The Garabedians are looking for photos of CRI Rowers to hang on their walls as memorabilia of the crews. In addition, to photos hanging on the wall, they will have a slideshow of photos running on a 42" flat screen for all their visitors to see. The boathouse Deli also does catering and makes pizza, "Old Style." The Garabedians thank CRI and CRI families for their support and "all you have done within the CRI Family you have made our children confident, dedicated and most of all they hold memories that will last a lifetime." |
