IMPORTANT NOTICE The USPS has experienced difficulties processing CRI's 2008 Annual Appeal mailing and we are working to fix this situation. In the meantime, we ask you to take a moment to read a copy of the Appeal letter below and hope you will consider making a gift. |
Dear CRI Members and Supporters, Welcome to the first season of rowing out of CRI's Harry Parker Boathouse. Last month we moved into our new facility-no small feat for an organization founded on the ability to bootstrap its way to success. Now that we have a roof over our heads, our first and most important responsibility is to safety. Rowing on the Charles River is a wonderful way to find balance in our busy lives, but it can quickly become meaningless in the context of a life-threatening injury or drowning. In 2009, Community Rowing is committed to purchasing safe coaching launches for ALL of our coaches. This is a major investment of funds, but it's worth it when we consider the thousands of youth and adults who launch from our docks each year. This year we have set a $72,000 goal for the Annual Appeal. This will pay for SIX of the twelve new WAKELESS launches CRI needs. With the purchase of these boats, we will be able to: · Rescue nine or more rowers at a time · Provide a stable platform to render medical aid to rowers in an emergency · Reduce wakes to allow coaches to provide closer attention to rowers We recognize it has been a long, challenging road over the past couple of years as we raised funds for our new boathouse. Thank you for sticking with us! Now we are positioned to enjoy our beautiful new building and, with your help, create a safer environment on the water. Please give generously-your donation may save a life one morning on the Charles River.
