Join us for the Launching of CRI's Adaptive Rowing Program this Thursday at 11am
CRI invites you to attend the dedication ceremony of its adaptive rowing program this Thursday, October 25, 2008, at 11:30am. CRI, whose motto is "rowing for all" is launching the program with adaptive athlete John Horgan, a greatly admired Massachusetts State House employee and North Andover resident.
Thanks to a generous $100,000 grant awarded to CRI from the state's Executive Office of Environmental Affairs (EOEA), a specially designed adaptive dock was installed at the facility over the summer. This adaptive dock is positioned lower to the water, accommodating greater access for people with disabilities, as well as the variety of adaptive rowing equipment now available. Come join in us.

CRI's Wine Tasting & Auction 2008
Thanks to Everyone who helped make this event a success!
CRI had another full house this year for its Annual Wine Tasting and Live Auction. Members and guests enjoyed a fun filled evening at the Cambridge Boat Club and helped to raise close to $25,000 for CRI's operating funds and G-Row Boston Program.
The Women's Comp. Team who were the lead sponsors for the event out did themselves on Saturday night, as the food they prepared was out of this world and presented in haute couture fashion. Tracey Neret did a super job as the auctioneer bringing high bids for such items as Celtics tickets, CRI wooden oars, and an official CRI hand knit cap.
Several parents from the Youth Comp. and Novice teams attended and appeared to have fun mingling with the other CRI rowers. Scullers and Sweeps rowers also made a good showing and showed their support by bidding during the auction. CRI would like to offer a special acknowledgment to Sweeps Rower, Helen Stefan who organized the online auction and donated her services as a representative for her company C-Market. Total sales for the auction raised more than $9,000 this year.
CRI would like to extend its sincere thanks to the many people who helped to make this a fun and worthwhile evening including Howie Schmuck (CRI member #00001), Cambridge Trust Co., Great Brewers Company, TD Banknorth, Mariner Insurance, Matignetti's and CRI staff who all sponsored the event. In addition, we would like to thank the many individuals and companies who donated items to the auction.
See below for photos. Additional pics will be posted on the CRI website in the near future thanks to CRI comp. woman and photographer extraordinaire AJ Rourke.
