CRI's old docks rest in the parking lot waiting to be hauled off to the dump, while the new docks, measuring 130 feet each create one impressive run totaling 520 feet in length.  Alyson Magian, CRI's former Executive Director proclaimed; "They are really landing strips!"

Adjustments will be made to the docks in the coming weeks to insure the height is appropriate for both the sweep docks and the sculling docks, so expect them to be lower in the water in the next few weeks.

Jane Morse, CRI's Board President emailed last week and asked; "Remember that snag at the top of the Newton Yacht Club??" Maybe your oar hit it, or your boat ran into it once or twice...  Well, she informed us of some great news: "It isn't there anymore-- it's on the Watertown shore," thanks to a few brave volunteers!!  The same group, Henriette Power, Judith Hanson and Jane Morse with the help of MJ Curry, CRI's Program Director secured an orange barrel to the tip of the sandbar that lurks downstream, just past the Beacon Street Bridge.  The sandbar is now well marked.  Above, Jane Morse removes part of the snag from the middle of the river.

There was a great turn out for the Scullers' Boat Cleaning Parties oarganized by CRI Sculler, Jacquie McCarthy last Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. Below, some major boat scrubbing is taking place, which was soon followed by re-rigging and pitch setting.
