Boathouse Construction Update

This week, the boathouse continues to take shape with the addition of the airplane hangar doors and the beginning of the glass on the sculling pavilion.  The hangar doors are truly exceptional - more than 40 feet wide, they will give the Boathouse a truly "open" character every day that CRI rowers are out on the water.   With our 60 foot long boats and a building that is already a landmark from the Turnpike, the new boathouse will inspire passersby to try the sport and bring rowing a new level of recognition.

On a more technical note, the sprinkler contractors start their work on Monday of next week, and close behind them the walls and final finish will start on the interior.  The long metal tubes that are starting to appear on the outside of the building are to hold the final eco-friendly siding that will bring the building into balance with the surrounding park and river.

Don't Miss Out! CRI Jacket Order June 30th
CRI Jacket
A message from Gina Navia
(A CRI Sculler)

Hi Rowers,

I am Gina Navia and I handle the ordering of Boathouse Sports jackets. We do this 2 times a season. in June and again in August. The jacket takes about one month to get after ordering. Right now, I am putting a "call for jackets" out to the CRI Community.

We order two types of jackets:
1- Supplex which is the lighter weight one that you see with the CRI lettering on the back.
2- Gortex which is the heavier weight one that does not and cannot have a CRI on the back due to breaking the Gortex seal that keeps it waterproof.

Price will include the cost of jacket, name on the sleeve in block letters (or not) and shipment to your home. If interested when I get the head count you will make the check out to Boathouse Sports for the amount that I will list again in the next email blast.

Important: NO RETURNS! What you order is what you get. I HIGHLY recommend that you try on both or your preferred one from someone in the boathouse.
This is very important. Boathouse will rectify their issues with quality and incorrect names etc. (I make the master list and send), but will not deal with sizing.

If you need further clarification to the sizing, please contact me separately. For now, think what you want and formalize your size etc. When I get the head count, I can order in bulk.

Past orders put the price range below:
Supplex about $ 80.
Gortex about    $ 180

The difference is significant as they are two different kinds of jacket. In the short, I would say the Supplex is a nice summer jacket, but the Gortex is waterproof, great for Head season and multipurpose. Folks use this for skiing too, I hear.

So keep me posted and shoot me an email of what you want. I will keep a running list.

I am cutting this order off by MONDAY, JUNE 30 TH.

You will be required to send a check to me made out to Boathouse Sports by that date. No check, no order.

BTW, many parents order and wear with pride while their children practice and or compete.

Row Hard!
