 Five Funds Forum, Europe Trip Highlights
Dave Kirkpatrick and Arrun Kapoor recently returned from an exciting trip to Europe where they travelled with four other funds to meet with investors interested in cleantech and sustainability. A Five Funds Forum is planned for the U.S. in early June. |
 Successful Kick-Off for Cleantech Mentorship Program and CleanLinks
The 2010 SJF Cleantech Mentorship Program, supported by Citi Foundation, kicked off with a welcome event and reception on February 24. The next Cleantech Mentorship event was held on April 1 and included discussion on methods for creating a simple, actionable strategic plan. See the list of mentors and mentees participating in the 2010 program.
Both NYC and RTP held successful happy hour networking events last month under the new name, CleanLinks with over 400 cleantech business professionals attending between the two venues. In March, Dave Kirkpatrick spoke at the Wall Street Green Trading Summit in NYC and moderated an energy panel on Emerging Opportunities in Green Energy and Energy Efficiency for the ACG Raleigh-Durham Chapter. For a recap on themes involved in these discussions, please see the SJF blog post on CleantechInvesting.com. Kirkpatrick will also be speaking at the Global Innovations in Energy conference April 20-21 at UNC in Chapel Hill. David Griest spoke at the Hawaii Venture Capital Summit on March 11 and also attended the DistribuTECH conference in Tampa later that month. Griest will be attending the Philadelphia Angel Venture Fair on April 6 as well as the Crossroads Venture Fair in CT on May 5 & 6.
On March 20-21, Cody Nystrom participated as a judge in the 5th Annual Sustainable Venture Capital Investment Competition at the UNC Kenan-Flager Business School. Nystrom also spoke on Green Investing at the CDVCA Annual Conference in New Orleans as well as on a Panel for Women Entrepreneurship in Richmond, VA. Nystrom participated on the Energy and Environment Selection Committee for the Spring Investors' Circle Venture Fair and she will attending the IC conference in San Francisco on April 19-20. Anne Claire Broughton will be attending the 12th Annual Inner City 100 Awards Dinner on May 5 in Boston. Bonny Moellenbrock has been named to the Developed Markets Standards Advisory Council for development of Global Impact Investing Ratings System (GIIRS) of the Global Impact Investment Network.
