Our Vision
Jesus in Love serves lesbian, gay, bi trans and queer  (LGBTQ) people who have spiritual interests, and our allies. We promote queer spirituality and the arts, with an emphasis on books and images. We believe that God loves all people, including sexual minorities. We believe that the creative process is sacred. We hope that the new visions, especially the gay Jesus and queer saints, will free people to experience the divine in new ways and lead to a more just world.
Greetings!
Current events, controversy and celebrities drove the top stories of 2011 at Jesus in Love.  The year's top 10 stories are announced today, plus hate-crime news and queer inspiration.
Top 10 LGBT spiritual arts stories of
2011

John McNeill and Brendan Fay Our Lady by Alma Lopez
A new film about gay priest John McNeill was the most popular LGBT spiritual arts story for 2011.  The top 10 stories of the year were named today at the Jesus in Love Blog.

The second-ranked story covered attacks by Christian conservatives against an exhibit of queer saints by lesbian artist Alma Lopez.

Others in the top 10 are: 10th anniversary of 9/11,  Lady Gaga's queer spirituality, history's gay couples, erotic Christ teacher, and paintings of gay spiritual struggles. The most popular saints were Sergius & Bacchus, Joan of Arc and Artemisia Gentileschi.  More info

One year later: Ugandan LGBT martyr
David Kato by Rod Byatt

On the first anniversary of David Kato's murder, many paused to honor the Ugandan LGBT rights activist who died Jan. 26, 2011. Some blame conservative religious rhetoric for his murder. A new film on his life will premiere Feb. 11. More info

St. Brigid loved her female soulmate

Sts. Brigid and Darlughdach by Robert Lentz
St. Brigid and her soulmate Darlughdach were 6th-century nuns who brought art, education and spirituality to early medieval Ireland.

They were so close that they slept in the same bed. Brigid shares her name and feast day (Feb. 1) with a Celtic goddess -- and she may have been the last high priestess of the goddess.  More info
