Our Vision
Jesus in Love serves gay, lesbian, bi and trans (glbt) people who have spiritual interests, and our allies. We promote queer spirituality and the arts, with an emphasis on books and images. We believe that God loves all people, including sexual minorities. We believe that the creative process is sacred. We hope that the new visions, especially the gay Jesus, will free people to experience the divine in new ways and lead to a more just world.
Greetings!

Spring is here, and so is the LGBT Holy Week series at the Jesus in Love Blog.  Please visit, reflect and be renewed.

Last Supper by Becki Jayne Harrelson
GLBT Holy Week art and readings are running now through Easter at the Jesus in Love Blog.

The dramatic events of Christ's Passion happen in the context of a gay love story between Jesus and his beloved disciple John.

Artists include F. Douglas Blanchard, Becki Jayne Harrelson, William Hart McNichols, Corinne Quinones, Gary Speziale, and Dirk Vanden.

Friends to the end: Perpetua and Felicity

Saints Perpetua and Felicity by Robert Lentz
Saints Perpetua and Felicity were brave North African woman friends who died for their faith in the 3rd century.

They are often included in lists of LGBT saints because they show the power of  love between two women.

Perpetua's journal is the first known written document by a woman in Christian history.  More info

Jesus suffers with us in AIDS Crucifixion

AIDS Crucifixion by William McNichols
Christ hangs on the cross below a sign saying, "AIDS, homosexual, faggot, pervert, Sodomite" in a powerful drawing by Father William Hart McNichols.

A man waves a Bible at the dying Jesus, symbolizing the conservative Christians who claimed that AIDS was God's punishment for being gay.  More info

I'm preparing some special treats for you this weekend at the Jesus in Love Blog.

We'll have a reflection by renowned gay author Toby Johnson for the April 3 birthday of Kuan Yin, androgynous spirit of compassion.  Toby tells why the Kuan Yin is important for GLBT people.  And there will be plenty of Easter goodies on Sunday.

Thank you for being part of my spiritual journey this Holy Week, and have an amazing Easter.
