Our Vision
Jesus in Love serves gay, lesbian, bi and trans (glbt) people who have spiritual interests, and our allies. We promote queer spirituality and the arts, with an emphasis on books and images. We believe that God loves all people, including sexual minorities. We believe that the creative process is sacred. We hope that the new visions, especially the gay Jesus, will free people to experience the divine in new ways and lead to a more just world.
Greetings!
With Valentine's Day coming, a video celebrates same-sex marriage.  2009 brings us everything from the gay Christian movie "Prayers for Bobby" to prayers for Obama --by an openly gay priest at the inauguration.  Then there's preacher Ted Haggard, disgraced by his secret gay affair.   The year is off to a rip-snorting start!  Read on...
Gay artist links angels, body and spirit
Angels Consorting by Stephen Mead
Sexuality and spirituality unite beautifully in the work of gay artist Stephen Mead of New York.

He paints lesbian and gay angels embracing.  Gay angels sleep wrapped in each other's arms with naked vulnerability in "Angels Sleeping Unawares."

Mead presents a different view of embodied spirituality in "Sponge Christ We Anoint You," which shows that being a caregiver can be a sensuous, holy experience.  More info

Ted Haggard on Larry King show

Gay Holy Week readings run on blog
At the Cross book cover
Celebrate Holy Week and Easter at the Jesus in Love Blog with suitable readings from Kittredge Cherry's novel At the Cross.

Appropriate excerpts will be posted at the blog beginning on Palm Sunday (April 5) and continuing through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter (April 12).

The dramatic events of Christ's Passion happen in the context of a gay love story between Jesus and his beloved disciple John.  Jesus has today's queer sensibilities as he reveals the erotic, mystical experiences that may have led to the first Easter.  Recommended reading for Lent (starting Feb. 25). Ash Wednesday (Feb 25) begins the season of Lent, a time of soul-searching and reflection to prepare for Easter.

I recommend a gay-positive way to honor Lent -- by reading my novel At the Cross.  It tells the story of Christ's Passion and resurrection from a queer viewpoint.

May you be blessed by love on Valentine's Day and beyond!
