Jesus in Love serves gay, lesbian, bi and trans (glbt) people who have spiritual interests, and our allies. We promote queer spirituality and the arts, with an emphasis on books and images. We believe that God loves all people, including sexual minorities. We believe that the creative process is sacred. We hope that the new visions, especially the gay Jesus, will free people to experience the divine in new ways and lead to a more just world.

Greetings!
Greetings as we approach springtime and Easter (March
23). One way to get ready is by reading my new book At the Cross. It's an Easter tale with a gay love story between Jesus and John.

Gay Mohammad art censored
A Gay Mohammad video and photos were censored recently from a Dutch art exhibit. The artist was forced into hiding by death threats from Muslim extremists.
Iranian-born artist Sooreh Hera says that her images are an artistic expose of Islamic hypocrisy on homosexuality. She photographed gay men in masks of Mohammad and his son-in-law Ali.
The municipal museum in the Hague backed out of its plan to exhibit the photos from Hera's "Adam and Ewald" series and a related video. More info

Tikkun features queer Christian art
An illustrated article on queer Christian art appears in the new issue of Tikkun, a major interfaith magazine on politics, spirituality and culture. "Take Back Jesus: The Queer Christ Arises for the Good of All" by Kittredge Cherry is in the March-April 2008 issue of Tikkun.The article strikes a note of hope: "Queer Christ images can liberate everyone. For too long people have been in bondage to conservative interpretations of Christianity's central figure. Without a broader vision, humanity is likely to continue down the destructive path of hatred, war, economic exploitation, and ecological destruction. Now it's time to take back Jesus-not just for gays, but for the good of all." More info |
