The Clothing of Locust Lawn: An Extraordinary Collection, A Rare Opportunity In a region filled with historic house musuems, Locust Lawn is a rare treasure -- a time capsule filled with the clothings, furnishings and beloved possesions of three generations of the prosperous 19th century Hasbroucks. When the family "mothballed" the house in 1885, they left behind over 500 articles of clothing. Today, this clothing is safely tucked away in the house. This workshop is the first time that much of this collection will be shown to the public. Archives Specialist Susan Stessin-Cohn and Collections Assistant Ashley Hurlburt will be your guides for an unforgettable event. Saturday, September 26th, 4 to 6pm at Locust Lawn, 400 Route 32 South, New Paltz. Limited to 20. Advance registration strongly suggested. Click here to register online or call (845) 255-1660, ext. 300. $20 per person ($18 for Friends of Huguenot Street). |
