The recent winter storms have caused damage to some of the orphanages. Most schools were closed, mud, nearby rivers overflowed, electricity failed, mud, water pipes burst, roofs leaked, clothes were soaked, and there was lots of mud! But none of these problems dampened the spirits of the children as their smiles, laughter, and healing power brightened even the cloudiest and threatening of days. These kids are resilient. They think everyone lives like they do (shh - don't tell them). Come visit our kids on one of our monthly bus trips. We promise, they will change your life forever. Juntos, Cambiaremos Sus Vidas! (Together, we will change their lives!)

Bus Trips

On January 18, forty five volunteers visited the El Faro Orphanage in Tijuana. We did a fun craft project, had a delicious pizza lunch, danced and the kids even performed a few songs for us! Click HERE for the photos. Our next trip is February 20, sign up TODAY!

Orphanage Updates

On January 9, a group of volunteers traveled to the Rancho El Faro orphanage in Ensenada to celebrate Dia de los Reyes. This orphanage does not get many visitors due to their remote location and the Christmas holidays were very lonely. Thanks to volunteers from Los Angeles to Tijuana, many nice gifts were delivered, a delicious pizza lunch was served, and best of all, a message was sent to the 35 children that they are not alone and that people care. Check out the photos.

The Casa de Paz orphanage suffered damage to many of their buildings during the January storms. The river breached its banks and damaged a dorm beyond repair. The wind caused roof damage to all buildings and destroyed two greenhouses that produced much of their vegetables. Click HERE for photos. If you can help with funds to repair the orphanage and get life back to normal for the 45 children, please click this LINK to make a one time donation. In the Sponsor field, indicate CASA DE PAZ and we will make sure your gift goes to repairing the orphanage.

How You Can Help

L.A. Native Clothing
L.A. Native Clothing has created beautiful scarves to benefit CDV. Buy a scarf and 100% of the sales price will go to help feed and support the children. Brisa, Kiana, Jose and Carmen are children living at the orphanages, never forget them as they keep you warm. Click HERE to buy your scarf today.

Dental and Medical Needs
The children have many dental and medical needs. CDV has partnered with dentists in Tijuana and Ensenada to provide care for just the cost of material. We also have a group of medical angels in San Diego who are committed to having at least 4 medical missions a year to perform physicals, create charts, and make recommendations to our Baja doctors. But we need help. Please consider donating to our DENTAL or MEDICAL fund and lets be proactive instead of reactive when it comes to the health of the children.

Pediatric doctors, we need your help. Join a team of MD's, pharmacists, MA's, Residents, and other team members on one of our medical missions. The children do not see a doctor unless they are in pain. Help us relieve discomfort and join our team. Photos of two of our recent missions - Ebenezer and Hacienda!

Empty Ink Cartridges
Send us your empty ink cartridges and help us turn it into cash to buy office supplies for CDV or for the orphanage computer labs. Do not throw them out. Recycle and give life to a printer that is collecting dust because there are no funds to buy ink or paper.

Send your cartridges to:
