Angels
16 years ago, Angels were guided to the Door of Faith Orphanage in La Mision, a home of 35 children. Utilities had not been paid for months, children were not in school, food was very limited, and the dormitories were in very sad shape. CDV founder and president Hilda Pacheco-Taylor led these Angels to a once thriving home and within 7 short years, the orphanage was home to over 100 children, with sufficient food, a healthy environment, strong leadership, and an educational path. In 2001, CDV started to help El Faro and El Faro 2 (Casa Hogar Sion), other homes that were in deplorable shape. Angels have stepped up and made these homes a safe haven for the 180 children who live at these homes. Since that time, with the help of thousands of CDV Angels, we have been able to lend assistance to 11 more orphanages and 400 children each day. 2010 is going to be a challenging year for us and now more than ever, we are looking for Angels to help us meet the survival needs of our orphan, abandoned, and homeless Baja children. We had some unbelievable miracles happen last year that allowed us to maintain our minimum committment to the kids. As we continue to weather the perfect storm of the economy, unrest, swine flu epidemic, and passport regulations, we will need your help in recruiting an army of Angels to help us. A heartfelt thank you to our Angels who have been with us from day 1 and our new Angels who are making it happen each day. Together, we will face the challenges of 2010 and continue to sustain life each day at our 14 orphanages and 750 children. You are all Angels.

Events
Bus Trips
We are fortunate to be so close to the children we serve and as a charitable organization, we encourage our donors, sponsors, and volunteers to join us on a bus trip to meet the kids and learn of the work we are doing to help. We have public orphanage trips on the third Saturday of each month click HERE to register. It will be the best $40 you will ever spend.
We can also arrange private trips. So far Zaal is having a birthday trip celebration at an orphanage and two high schools, the Corona del Mar HS Corazon de Vida Club and Great Oaks HS of Temecula have confirmed private bus trips. We can help arrange a private trip for your church, club, school, or group for up to 48 people. If interested, please email trips@corazondevida.org.

How You Can Help
Have Your Next Company Meeting at An Orphanage
Picture Napa Valley 100 years ago. Lots of open space, clean air and miles of vineyards. This is Mexico's wine country today. Instead of going to Las Vegas or Palm Springs for your company meeting, consider going to one of our southern orphanages for an unforgettable experience, spending time with children, and accomplishing your goals. During December church services, student Lauren Brashears spoke to her congregation about CDV and the need of children living just two hours away. She them went to the back of the church to ask people for help. In 3 weeks, she raised over $2200.00. Way to go Lauren!
