CDV Highlights
Join Corazon de Vida on Saturday, December 5, 2009 as we visit three orphanages bringing holiday cheer, a super special lunch, a holiday craft project, and best of all, a message to the children that we will never forget them. The children are starved for attention and our job for the day will be to push them on a swing, read to them, do a fun craft, prep lunch, and make sure everyone is having fun.
Busses will depart from LA/OC/SD for this one day orphanage trip. BUS 1 will visit The Hacienda. BUS 2 visits El Faro. BUS 3 visits Door of Faith. Click HERE for the trip flyer. Trip cost is $40 and includes transportation, lunch, special holiday craft, and a delicious lunch. This is also a major fundraiser event for us. We ask that every volunteer fundraise at least $100 in addition to the bus fee so we can feed a child after our visit. Ask 10 friends for $10 and you are set. WALK FOR HOPE
CDV is honored to be selected as one of the charities involved in the Be The Cause 8th Annual WALK FOR HOPE Saturday, October 17, 2009 at El Dorado Park in Long Beach. This 5k (3 mile) walk will spread more love in our world while you read handmade inspiring quotes along the route. Gather your family and friends and register today for this FREE event by clicking HERE. Don't forget to select Corazon de Vida as "Your Chosen Charity". ORPHANAGE TRIPS
On the third Saturday of the month, a nice bus with AC, reclining seats, a bathroom, and video system departs from LA/OC/SD to visit an orphanage for the day. 48 volunteers will read the paper, chit-chat, or sleep as we safely bring them to an orphanage with lots of kids ready to run circles around you. Please make time on a precious Saturday and make the day for a child who looks forward to making new friends, is ready to correct your Spanish skills, and will learn whatever you can teach them. How You Can Help
Holiday Party
Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Years. Have a party, feed kids. In lieu of presents, cheap wine, or re-gifted gifts, ask your family and friends to donate whatever they would have spent to CDV or, ask for a small entry fee. The LevisFitzgerald family of Santa Monica is having a Halloween Party this year and are committed to raise $5000 by dressing up as zombies and inviting family, friends and neighbors to their home. CDV will provide a banner, or photo board, brochures, wristbands, video, and other materials to help. Have a Party, Feed Kids and make a difference this Holiday Season. GoodshopIf you plan to do your Holiday shopping online to avoid the crowded malls, parking lots, traffic, and short tempers, do your buying online in your pajamas and help us raise money. GOODSHOP gives to CDV a percentage of your order purchase if you enter the online store via GOODSHOP and select Corazon de Vida as the charity you support. All major online stores are participating and will not increase the cost of your purchase. GOODSHOP for CDV, help feed your kids. Ralphs Reward Card Ralphs Supermarket recently sent us a check for $96.78 as proceeds from only 12 CDV friends who took the time to register their card this past quarter. Imagine the rewards if our thousands of amigos who currently have a Ralphs Card just took 5 minutes of their day to register. We can get kids to a dentist, buy medications, or pay for a field trip to a museum. Please REGISTER your card today. Your participation will not increase the cost of your purchase.

- Stan Frymann who provided the needed funds to complete the new boys dorm at Rancho El Faro before winter arrives. This new dorm will give the boys a safe and comfortable living quarters with a bathroom.
- Jan Huisking of Holovision for their help in acquiring a psychologist at the Hacienda orphanage. This young doctor will talk to the teenagers to give self esteem, build their confidence, and encourage them to make a difference in their lives.
- Thank you to the students of Cal State Fullerton Public Relations class who selected CDV to put on a third party fundraising event, to promote and generate awareness of our mission. A thank you also goes out to the USC Marshall School of Business MBA students who have selected CDV to review our communication systems within our organization and discover ways to improve our methods.
- Our CDV child sponsors who continue to help us with our mission to feed and support 750 children living at 14 Baja orphanages - we could not do it without you!
