CDV Highlights
You had us at hola!
For over 14 years the Corazon de Vida Foundation has escorted thousands of American volunteers to visit Baja orphanages. Many make this trip a few times a year and some also sponsor children monthly. We have asked many of our volunteers why they keep returning and often the answer is, "We were not sure what to expect the first time we went. As we got off the bus the children ran up to us with their arms stretched out wide. 'Hola' they said to us with a smile and a hug. They had us at Hola."
Come join us on a bus trip to visit an orphanage and meet our kids. It will be a fulfilling day bringing supplies, sharing lunch, doing a craft project, but most of all, you will send a message to a child that you care. WALK FOR HOPE
CDV is honored to be selected as one of the charities involved in the Be The Cause 8th Annual WALK FOR HOPE Saturday, October 17, 2009 at El Dorado Park in Long Beach. This 5k (3 mile) walk will spread more love in our world while you read handmade inspiring quotes along the route. 8th ANNUAL HOLIDAY ORPHANAGE TRIP & PLEDGE CAMPAIGN
Save the date - Saturday, December 5, 2009 - Our 8th annual Holiday Orphanage trip to visit the Hacienda, El Faro and the Door of Faith orphanages. We will have bus departures from LA/OC/SD. Save the date, more information will be announced in early October.

How You Can Help
CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR
Rancho El Faro has a boys dorm that is 75% completed. We have run out of funding and the skills to complete this building before the rain comes. If you have the ability to raise about $2000 to pay for the materials and come to Baja with a work group, we can sure use your help. We also need help with housing repairs at most homes, including broken windows, leaky roofs, doors falling off, cement work, broken tables, etc.
VEHICLESCDV and the orphanages need vehicles! Hopefully you have turned in your clunker, but now you have a good working order car, truck, SUV, or van. Many homes are having difficulties in transporting children to school or for food runs due to undependable vehicles. If you have a vehicle to donate, please email info@corazondevida.org.

Do you have free time and want to help us in our office in Irvine? We are looking for detail oriented, punctual, dedicated students, housewives, or seniors who can assist with our administration duties. Email info@corazondevida.org if you can help.

In Loving Memory of Elvira De La Rosa
The De La Rosa family have been friends of CDV for a long time. On July 7, 2009 Elvira De La Rosa passed away with her family at her side. We are grateful for having had the privilege of Elvira's love, compassion and support for the children of CDV. We are also grateful for all of her friends and family who donated $3395 in her honor to the Corazon de Vida Foundation.
