This new site will allow our staff to quickly and easily make updates and changes so that you will get the latest information about our events, trips and news. There is also a new CDV store that we will be offering new ways to help the children and in the future, selling CDV t-shirts, caps, and art by the children. The new blog section will bring you up to date with orphanage happenings, Quinceanera' s, graduations, report cards, leaking roofs and much more. Events
The Rude Monkey Theatre Group, New York City is having a CDV fundraiser at the Producers Club on Sunday, February 15, 2009 to benefit the children of Baja. Live performances, art, live music, wine, raffles, comedy and much more. If you are in New York, stop by and show your support for CDV and the Rude Monkey Theatre Group. Theatre. Gorilla Style.
Reviving Our Hearts Fundraiser Benefiting Corazon de Vida, Saturday February 14, Los Angeles CDV friends at Be The Cause have partnered with us to adopt the Casa de Paz orphanage, a home of 45 children that are struggling to survive. Bring your corazon to this event on Valentines Evening, enjoy a buffet meal, dance and karaoke the night away.
CDV Online Donation Campaign
We really need your help this year! The economy, recession, and more kids arriving at the orphanages is taking a toll on our ability to provide sufficient food, utility, housing, medical and education support to our 750 + children. Please create an online donation page by uploading a photo, adding some text, setting a goal and sending your custom link to EVERYONE in your address book. CDV Orphanage Trip Update
CDV will commence our trips in April due to overwhelming response from our volunteers and especially from the children who are not very happy with us right now. We miss them and they miss us. Please check our website soon for more information, trip schedules and the registration page. Thanks to those who have given us emotional support and feedback during these difficult times. Together, we will change lives.

Orphanage Updates
Ebenezer - 16 year old Josue has joined his schools "American Football" team. Soccer is the national sport, but more schools are forming teams and coaches are teaching kids the fundamentals. Josue needs football gear like helmets, pads, shoes, and "football" sponsors to pay for travel costs and other incidentals. If you can help, please email george@corazondevida.org.
La Roca - Congratulations to Isidro for having the opportunity to return to his university engineering school. A generous CDV donor has paid for his semester costs, including transportation, so that he can continue. In a few years, CDV is going to have a degreed engineer!
CDV- MORE THAN JUST FEEDING KIDS!
We are making great strides recently in getting more of our children into school. A few recent victories:
- We recently formed a partnership with the Mexican COBACH school system to help get our children into high school and opportunities for scholarships.
- Two El Faro boys, Juan and Christian, start prepa next week. COBACH helped get the boys in one of their schools after the principal said it was not possible.
- We continue to pay for the Ebenezer children education via the Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim.
- We continue to pay for the El Faro and Rancho El Faro education needs via the Kid's International Foundation.
- We continue to pay for the San Jose education needs via Capstone Ministries.

- Quincy Wise, an 11 year old young man who decided to forgo his holiday and birthday gifts so that his family could sponsor Edgar at the Hacienda orphanage. They recently met during our Holiday Trip and formed a friendship that spans borders. Quincy and Edgar write each other, sharing their dreams for the future. Read a note Quincy recently wrote about his new friend.
- Apogee Electronics & John Fogerty for their donation to CDV. Every time an artist records a record at the Apogee recording studio, Apogee asks that the artist donate 100% of the studio rental to CDV! Thank you Mr. Fogerty for your $5000 donation. Now if we can get the Stones, U2 and Beyonce to record, the kids would be singing along!
- Blanchard For Others of Escondido, CA, for selling raffle tickets of a custom made birdhouse and matching the total. They donated $2500 to CDV. Thank you for coming up with a different and unique way to help us support the kids.
- Andy Chanley, DJ for 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles, who selected CDV as the recipient of a travel guitar. The guitar will be delivered to Rancho El Faro to add to their growing music room. The children love to play music and perhaps one day, they will record at Apogee Studios!
- Our CDV child sponsors who continue to help us with our mission to feed and support 750 children living at 14 Baja orphanages - we could not do it without you!
