Greetings!
As we approach the holidays and celebrate the "Season of Giving", we are reminded how fortunate we are that we have a group of dedicated supporters for whom "Giving" needs no "Season", no time constraints, no geography requirements, no limitations, and for that we are extremely grateful. Thanks to your contributions, CDV kids were able to start the school year with new uniforms, shoes, backpacks and books and nutritious meals - THANK YOU! We new begin our 6th Annual Holiday Pledge Drive and Orphanage Trip - a yearly fund-raiser to support the orphanages in Baja. Last year, CDV volunteers raised over $60,000 in pledges and we need your help again this year to help put nutritious food and clean water on their tables. Our goal this year is $75,000 to help us cover the next four months of support for our CDV orphanages. Please create your own online donation campaign. Once your page is created, send your link to everyone in your address book, upload to your MySpace, Facebook or blog page. With just a little bit of effort, we can make a BIG difference in the life of a child. |

CDV Highlights New Trip Fee Schedule
Starting with the October 2008 trip schedule, CDV is changing the cost of the trip to visit an orphanage to $40.00 per person. We would still like for each person attending a trip to do their best to donate, pledge or fundraise at least $62.50 in addition to the $40.00 bus fee. This will help us feed one child for one month after your visit. Ask 7 friends for $10.00 each to feed a child and you're set. Create a pledge page and email the link to everyone in your address book! Or upload your pledge page link to your MySpace or Facebook site!
Rent a movie, have dinner at home, and save gas on a Saturday night and you'll easily meet this commitment (Imagine, just one night at home will feed a child for one month!). To see the current schedule and to register, please click here.

Sponsor a Child!
A little money goes a long way in Baja, Mexico. Just $62.50 a month can feed a child and provide for their utilities and most basic needs. Help us start at the beginning - one child at a time. Any amount helps! You have the power to make a difference in a child's life. Your donation could possibly change everything for one child. Help change a child's life and become a child sponsor. Orphanage Updates
- Casa de Paz built a green house earlier this year and it has reaped many pounds of squash, cucumbers, chili's, and tomatoes. When everyone got tired of eating squash for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they sold the excess to the neighbors to generate extra cash. Way to go CDP!
- The Hacienda School has started the new school year with 162 primary students! Madre Virginia and the teachers welcomed the new director, "Teacher Ana", this year and things are doing well, except for the computer lab. We need new computers, networking and Internet access for the school computer classroom and lab. Can anybody out there help?
- El Faro has a NEW 15 person passenger van! Well, not exactly new as it is 20 years old and has 144,000 miles on it, but at least the kids can get to school, which is 45 minutes each way. The old van left them stranded on the streets of Tijuana, radiator steaming and smoke coming from the tailpipe one too many times. Gracias to Kim Newton and Project Casa de Vida for your help in acquiring a new van to get the children to school safely each day.
- Rancho El Faro has a new multi purpose room that contains dormitories, a bathroom, shower, storage office and library. The teens now have a quiet place to do homework. The Rancho is in a very rural area of Ensenada and this building is a huge addition to the well being of the 27 teenagers who live at the orphanage. A big heartfelt thank you to Mr. Phil Nisco and Family who funded this wonderful project. You have changed their lives forever.

CDV Kids
Congratulations to Adeline, Mayra and Joselyn as they celebrated their Quinceanera in September at Rancho El Faro. Quince's are very special for a Mexican teenage girl and when possible, CDV tries to keep up with the tradition whenever possible. Check out photos of this special day!
Way to go Isidro! This young man who lives at La Roca in Tijuana has stepped up to make sure the La Roca Library computers, printers and other technical requirements are being met. Along with the RE Cares Library Upgrade Project and upcoming Librarian, the La Roca school children will have a Hi-Tech Biblioteca (Library) this school year. Gracias to Isidro, Pastor Miguel, RE Cares of San Diego and especially the children of La Roca ... our future scholars. |

Fundraising Ideas
Have a party and celebrate each home run during the Baseball playoffs or touchdowns during the football season. Decorate the house, put out a spread of hot dogs, chips and brew, flip on the big screen and at the 7th inning stretch or half time, pass around the sombrero and ask your friends to donate to YOUR charity - The Corazon de Vida Foundation. If you need help, let us know. Together, we will make a difference in the lives of the children.

Private Orphanage Trips Gather your co-workers, friends, family, parishioners, and group members and let CDV organize a private trip for your organization. CDV will provide a bus for 48 volunteers that will pickup at your location, we will provide food, craft project, an orphanage and lots of kids. All you need to do is gather your volunteers, register them online to a page we provide, do a little bit of fundraising and we promise that you will have a day that will never be forgotten. For more information, email trips@corazondevida.org.
Company Retreat at an Orphanage Instead of a retreat in Las Vegas or Palm Springs, have your next company retreat or business meeting at an orphanage. We can provide a meeting room, dormitories with bathroom and a kitchen. After business, hang with the kids and do a work project at the orphanage. Now, we are not talking about Ritz Carlton meeting rooms or accommodations, but we promise that it will bring your employees closer together by helping children and the orphanage. If you're looking for something different, email george@corazondevida.org for more information.
Adopt an Orphanage Is your church, company or group looking to help children but do not know where or how? Partner with CDV to put your arms around an orphanage. We can select a compatible orphanage with your organization and discuss their needs and we can work on a monthly amount to provide food, medical, housing needs, entertainment and so many other opportunities. CDV can arrange a group visit to your orphanage so you get to meet the children and staff and form friendships. Adopt an Orphanage and help make a difference. To find out more, email larry@corazondevida.org.

Help make a difference in a child's life TODAY!
