| 9-11-2008: Was U.S. Under Cyber Attack?
 Readers may be aware of the reported "run on the banks" story told a few months ago during a CSPAN interview with Congressmen Kanjorski of Pennsylvania, who chairs the Capital Markets Subcommittee. Supposedly, on September 11, 2008, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (perhaps intended to mirror the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center), there was a 'run' on U.S. banks of $550 billion through the Internet.
The Federal Reserve was unable to stop it, so they closed down all money market accounts. They estimated that if they had not done this by 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, that $5.5 trillion dollars (90% of U.S. liquidity) would have been drawn out, destroying the economy of the United States. And within a few days, the world economy as well.
Treasury Secretary Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke then supposedly informed congress on Sept. 15. If this were true, it logically would not be discussed openly because the news would probably have devastated consumer faith in the banking system.
While this story may have been buried by the traditional news media, it was discussed quite a bit on the Internet, with a mix of reactions. One counter argument was that the story was simply misstated due to the pressure and fatigue on various parties involved. Others wondered if this were a cyber attack by sinister elements electronically stealing bank deposits (as we see sometimes in the movies).
Coincidentally, U.S. President Barack Obama recently announced a new effort to strengthen the nation's cyber security infrastructure. The federal government will work closely with local and state governments as well as the private sector, to protect against electronic sabotage.
The Federation's view on this is that their is truth to the story, and it demonstrates just how fragile and vulnerable our current economic systems are. But they also remind us that we should not put our trust in material things, because they can be taken away in a "moment of time."
But we should trust instead in those things that have permanent and legitimate value. Therefore, we should focus on building our character and our Light, and grow in our love for one another. |
 Swine Flu Update
Last month we discussed the Swine Flu 'crisis' and how it quickly became a worldwide concern. We also mentioned how authorities are working on a vaccine, and how the available evidence seemed to indicate that the outbreak was a planned occurrence, rather than a random act of nature.
Politicians and those familiar with the workings of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services have suggested that this was just a scare tactic aimed at allowing more government control of the healthcare system. While millions of flu cases are reported throughout the world each year, and many thousands die from it, it only took a relatively few cases of this strain to cause authorities to label it as a "pandemic." And while something this serious would normally call for at least a temporary halting of immigration from country to country, especially from Mexico (the 'epicenter') to the U.S., this has not happened.
But both military and medical experts familiar with the nature of viruses, and commented that the evidence seems to indicate that this was manufactured in a lab. What's unusual about this strain is that it attacks young, healthy adults with healthy immune systems, instead of infants and the elderly. It will be interesting to see how much pressure is applied for citizens to take the vaccine when it comes out in the Fall of 2009.
As mentioned in the April issue, the Federation expects that our various governments will continue to use these incidents as opportunities to exert control over their citizens.

North Korea's Kim Jong-il Back in the News
After being out of the public eye since his reported stroke in August, 2008, North Korea's Kim Jong-il is back in the news, making a show of strength. He defied the United Nations by testing short-range missiles and threatening to test longer range ones in the weeks ahead. North Korea has also threatened to attack South Korea and the United States.
Some experts feel that part of the provocation was an attempt by Kim Jong-il to show his own country that he was still healthy and in command, because rumors about his health persist despite official denials that he was ever sick. It is also seen as an effort to coerce money out of the U.S. and neighboring countries.
While the Federation sees Jong-il as somewhat unstable because of the energies around him and his 'programming,' they do not feel that this situation will escalate out of control at this time. |

#4 - It's up to you as you are imagining taking 'great joy and delight' in everything you are doing; so you should be imagining things that you do throughout your life and taking enjoyment in them.
#5 - You are supposed to be planning your day by imagining how you'd like your day to occur in detail, and then you set out to accomplish it.
