Ministers and Mates Retreat (October 6-8)Despite the rainy weather, Team Central Ministers and Mates had a great time together at Melbourne Beach. A big thank you to host
Pastor Larry Attig (Melbourne First) who did an
awesome job with the biker theme, which was "Healthy Disciples." He is shown here presenting a t-shirt and hat (notice the ponytail) to our speaker, Dr. J.K. Warrick. For more photos, visit

TO CELEBRATE THE NAZARENE CENTENNIAL...Lakeland Eastside church (Pastor
Bill
Brown) held a Fall Festival with 250 people in attendance. The event featured a concert by "Faithful Crossing", free food and inflatables. Members of the congregation distributed flyers door-to-door to announce the event. Pastor Brown reports that he presented a Nazarene Centennial Heritage Award to the entire congregation. "They've shown a new attitude of wanting to reach their community." He received 9 new members that Sunday.
Lakeland Highland Park organized "HPN Gives Back" - sending over 200 volunteers throughout the community on service projects. Teams worked at local compassionate ministry centers, the Boys and Girls Club, and at individual homes. Pastor Larry Leonard has encouraged the congregation to make this an ongoing effort to reach the community by meeting tangible needs.
Vero Beach church (Pastor Hugh King) held a free 'block party' for the church neighborhood, on that weekend. He claims that it rained everywhere else in town, except over that area!
Pastor Carol Norton (St. Pete Lealman) dressed as Nazarene Founder Phineas Bresee and gave a short biography, then preached a Holiness message. The congregation re-enacted the "Holiness March" from Pilot Point by marching around the outside of the church.
