Newsletter for the
Central Florida District Churches of the Nazarene
Greetings!

We need each other.  We are a team-working together, serving together, committed to reaching hurting and broken people across Central Florida.

Praise Gathering is just days away!  I can hardly wait.  There is always an obvious anointed presence of the Holy Spirit when the Team Central Family gets together.

The difference is worth the distance!
New Nazarenes especially should attend to see the significance of being a part of a family of 15,000 Nazarenes in their district and 1.7 million globally.
LDD sinature

I look forward to sharing with you what God has been doing during these past weeks of study, prayer and seeking His face.

 Let's gather to praise Him,

News From The Team

JK Warrick & L Attig smMinisters and Mates Retreat (October 6-8)
Despite the rainy weather, Team Central Ministers and Mates had a great time together at Melbourne Beach.  A big thank you to host Pastor Larry Attig (Melbourne First) who did an awesome job with the biker theme, which was "Healthy Disciples."  He is shown here presenting a t-shirt and hat (notice the ponytail) to our speaker, Dr. J.K. Warrick.  For more photos, visit www.teamcentralnaz.org.

Pastor Sandra Jeannot (Tampa Haitian) has begun a Haitian service in Ruskin on Friday nights, with 18 people in attendance.  She reports that a generous donor gave 100 turkeys to their church to be distributed in the Haitian community.

St. Petersburg Victory (Rocky Hambrick) has launched a Hispanic ministry, with the help of District Hispanic Coordinator, Rev. Edgar Diaz.  Pastor Hambrick reports receiving 26 new members on Centennial Sunday!

Pastor Denis Nereus has resigned at Orlando Galilean.  Pastor Julio Brutus, District Haitian Coordinator will fill in until a new pastor is placed.

TO CELEBRATE THE NAZARENE CENTENNIAL...Lakeland Eastside church (Pastor Bill CentennialBrown) held a Fall Festival with 250 people in attendance.  The event featured a concert by "Faithful Crossing", free food and inflatables.  Members of the congregation distributed flyers door-to-door to announce the event.  Pastor Brown reports that he presented a Nazarene Centennial Heritage Award to the entire congregation.  "They've shown a new attitude of wanting to reach their community."  He received 9 new members that Sunday.
Lakeland Highland Park organized "HPN Gives Back" - sending over 200 volunteers throughout the community on service projects.  Teams worked at local compassionate ministry centers, the Boys and Girls Club, and at individual homes.  Pastor Larry Leonard has encouraged the congregation to make this an ongoing effort to reach the community by meeting tangible needs.
Vero Beach church (Pastor Hugh King) held a free 'block party' for the church neighborhood, on that weekend.  He claims that it rained everywhere else in town, except over that area!
Pastor Carol Norton (St. Pete Lealman) dressed as Nazarene Founder Phineas Bresee and gave a short biography, then preached a Holiness message.  The congregation re-enacted the "Holiness March" from Pilot Point by marching around the outside of the church.

Resources Available
Does your church still have a tape ministry?  We have boxes of blank cassette tapes that need a good home - 92 minute tapes (45 min each side) and 20 minute tapes (10 min each side).  And if you take the tapes, we'll throw in plastic cases for free as well!  Free to the first caller (or emailer)!  Contact the District Resource Center at  863-644-9331 or Email teamcentral1@verizon.net.
