September heralds the unofficial end of summer, the beginning of school, and the peak of farm harvests. It's also going to be a great month at Warren Kitchen & Cutlery- come in and check out what's new! (or at least read on for enticing hints!) *We will be CLOSED Labor Day, Monday, September 6.  A few days ago, we gave a little talk on the design and value of cookware to Red Hook Girl Scout Troop #10274. HONEY-PEANUT
BUTTER NUT BALLS For a sweet honey
snack try this fun, quick, no-cook recipe. (Recipe adapted by Jessica
Bard from the "classic" version.) Makes about 4 dozen treats. 1 cup raw honey 1 cup natural peanut butter (smooth or chunky) 1 cup non-fat dry milk powder 1 cup puffed rice cereal 1 cup finely chopped roasted peanuts, unsweetened flaked coconut, or toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Combine the honey and peanut butter and mix until combined. Stir in the non-fat dry milk and rice cereal and mix until just combined.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls and if desired, roll in peanuts or peanuts,
coconut, or sesame seeds until evenly coated. Refrigerate until chilled and firm.
