Nothing beats October in the Hudson Valley! From harvest festivals and pumpkin carving (Check out our PUMPKIN CARVING KITS made by "the Other Warren Cutlery") to baking pies and "putting up" the the last of the garden. Warren Kitchen has all you need to bake and can and pickle - and ferment, if you're into that! This month (Thurs. Oct 15) we have SPECIAL CLASS with Holly Shelowitz on the Art of Fermentation. Learn the nutritional value (probiotic qualities) of fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchee, miso, kefir etc... in class you will make your own sauerkraut! Not interested in the nutitional aspect? Then how about being able to show-off your homemade sauerkraut at your own OCTOBERFEST party!
And speaking of Octoberfest, Richard just came back from Germany on a knife tour with Wusthof- see In the Knife Room below!
Our other class is about PIZZA- an anytime meal. Make great traditional pizza AND how to make it on the stove top using a grill pan! Any-Time Grilled Pizza Class So we're featuring our Grill Pan selection this month! Not that we're finished with outdoor grilling but there will be times when you just don't want to go outside to cook. hands-on class, Maureen Luchejko will teach you the art of making
thin-crust grill-pan pizza AND how to make a traditional pizza with a peel and on a baking stone in the oven. Learn a super-easy 20 minute dough and techniques for handling and stretching. Students will learn
to make Pizza Margherita with sweet Italian sausage and Fontina, Pizza Bianca with
fresh ricotta, mozzarella, and pesto and Pizza with Caramelized Onion, Olives, and
Thyme. Students will make their own dough and have toppings to take home, as well
as receiving recipes and class notes.
