I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time.

It's Bigger on the Inside
1. Out of memory. We wish to hold the sky, But we never will. Francis Heaney 2. A tiny bird on the crest of a rooftop lifts its beak like a conductor's baton. Song too big to fit inside the slender body bursts out and swirls, reverberating in the sound posts of houses, filling the sky, expanding me beyond this quiet suburb. The right notes and good acoustics make a miracle: an entire symphony hides inside a creature no bigger than my outstretched hand. 3. Crusted with sweat and sand, we stuff ourselves into the elevator. The big-bellied man in uniform discharges 82 facts like rapid-fire rifle shots. A decade later, the doors part like the Red Sea And we flee to the parapet, sucking in great swallows of fresh air. What I remember: the obelisk is really tall, there was a war, and wondering how long before the buttons on his shirt would give way. 4. Hammerspace (noun): 1. an extra-dimensional storage area that's accessible when needed and contains (at the least) an infinite supply of large blunt objects. Characters in animation, comics, and games reach into pockets, big hair, cleavage, and trousers and pull out enormous hammers, wooden mallets, machine guns, swords, tools, treasure, and potions. 2. One of several animé tropes in which the inside of an object is larger (sometimes infinitely so) than the outside. See also magic satchel (e.g., Hermione Granger's beaded handbag, Mary Poppin's satchel); bag of holding; Tardis. 5. The word count doesn't tell the story. 6. A story can hold the sky. Judy
