NEXT MCA MEETING - NOVEMBER 10

Film Festival Sneak Preview

Every year, Cinema St. Louis puts on the largest international Film

Festival in the Midwest - the St. Louis International Film Festival.

This year, over 300 films will be screened, many of which will only screen in St. Louis during this festival.

St. Louis is lucky to have a strong and growing film production community, and many of ours have gone on to Hollywood to grow in the industry.  The opening night film this year is by St. Louis-native, George Hickenlooper - "Casino Jack" starring Kevin Spacey.

To celebrate filmmaking in St. Louis, at the November MCA meeting you will meet some of the creators of films that are in the St. Louis International Film Festival who are from St. Louis.

Join us on Wednesday, November 10 at 6:30pm to see some clips of the films and to learn from these filmmakers what it takes to reach a goal like SLIFF.

Check out our Facebook page for up to-the-minute details on this meeting!

 MEMBERS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Local St. Louis filmmaker and videographer, David Mumpower, volunteered to assist LA filmmaker/director, Hiliary Scarl, with her film screening, "See What I'm Saying." After learning of Ms. Scarl's years of championing "deaf issue's," David nominated Hilari for WETV's "we do good" award (awarded to women who do good things).  Mr. Mumpower was notified by WETV that Hiliary win for her category (popular vote). In addition to winning a trip to NYC and presentation awards, $2500 donated to a charity of the winners choice.  For more information please visit http://www.seewhatimsayingmovie.com
