| Call to Artists | We are accepting proposals for solo and small group art exhibits for 2013 and 2014.
Interested artists can email barbarap@visitahc.org for information on our exhibits and details for applying. Artists are also encouraged to attend one of our First Friday art openings to see how it all works.

Electrifying Times: Streetcars and the Building of Portland "Better Living Through Electricity"

Portland is often called the City of Bridges, but has recently also been called Streetcar City. This is due not just to our new streetcars, but also because Portland preserves many of the land patterns from the streetcar era. Information and registration here.

Greek Revival Architecture in the Oregon Territory, 1838-1859

Humble as it was, the fledgling Oregon Territory participated in the international and national architectural style of the Greek Revival. The style was part of the continuum of the Renaissance, begun in Italy in the fifteenth century, continued through Europe and Russia, and eventually into the youthful United States. Streetcar Mobile Musicfest 2012 Friday, October 5th, 6-10pm - Portland, Oregon The Streetcar Mobile Musicfest 2012 celebrates the new Central Loop, extending the Portland Streetcar to Portland's Central Eastside. It will feature 16 local bands playing onboard every streetcar between the Rose Quarter and OMSI, spoken work performances by Rick Huddle at the OMSI stop, numerous 'Streetcar Specials' from eastside food and drink businesses, and a free all-ages after party at Union/Pine.

Eugene Harvest Home Tour Historic Preservation League of Oregon October 13, 10am-4pm, Tickets: $10-20 Join the HPLO for an interiors tour of eight period homes (and one Pietro Belluschi designed church!) in Eugene's historic South University District. Reflecting a range of early-to-mid-20th century architecture, the tour also will include a short illustrated lecture on the history of the district and its period house styles.
