Warm Weather Is Here, Time To Volunteer!
Arbrey House Reception and Tour, May 23, 6-8 p.m. - This is a great chance to see this beautiful and historic NW Portland home! A few volunteers are still needed to help as house monitors, reception helpers, greeters. Do you enjoy art and use Microsoft Excel? We need your help for a few hours this week or next.
Art Show Set Up, May 31 - Help set up our June art show, featuring Michelle Van Orsow. Work starts at 10:30 a.m.
First Friday Reception, June 1 - Volunteers needed to help with food and beverage service, set up, clean up, greeting guests, retail sales, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

| Call to Artists | We are accepting proposals for solo and small group art exhibits for 2013 and 2014.
Interested artists can email barbarap@visitahc.org for information on our exhibits and details for applying. Artists are also encouraged to attend one of our First Friday art openings to see how it all works.

Paintings and Drawings from more than 75 talented young artists ranging from grades 1 - 8 on exhibit. Participate in the selection of the "Viewers Choice Award" and vote for your favorite pieces.
All of the art was created under the guidance of artist and teacher, Sue Lau who organized the special classes during her April solo exhibit at the AHC. Sue has several fantastic mixed media pieces on exhibit in this show.

Our Members in the News

Portland architect
Hal S. Ayotte
is the recipient of the University of Oregon's
2012 George McMath Award
. His expertise and guidance in preservation efforts on some of the Northwest's most notable historic treasures earned him high praise and recognition.
The awards ceremony will take place Wednesday, May 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UO in Portland White Stag Block at 70 N.W. Couch Street. Tickets to the award luncheon are $50 with proceeds supporting financial aid for historic preservation students.

This year's tour celebrates SW Portland's Bohmann Park neighborhood comprised almost entirely of the distinctive - and wildly sought after - homes of Robert Rummer.
