Art Exhibits at the AHC
Don't miss our next opening reception
Friday, August 5th 6-8pm Free and Open to the public
"Houses, Landscapes, Flowers, and Dreams:
The Poetic Art of CJ Hurley"

Houses, Landscapes, Flowers, & Dreams is an exhibition of new drawings and paintings paired with poetry. The poems and art unite in an interactive & symbiotic relationship; the poems enhancing the art and the art giving visual substance to words. Many of the paintings have companion drawings of the same
i mage demonstrating how vastly different the mood of an image can be by merely changing the medium.
Nature is the inspiration for this collection of words and images and urges people to view our environment differently. CJ's goal was "to create a substantial body of work that evokes some sort of neo-romantic sentiment regarding nature and humanity's place in it".
Ending soon.....

Kathleen Lansing

Help us spread the word!
Help us spread the word to all of the people in Portland who love old buildings, history, good education, exhibits, and more. We know all of you are loyal supporters of the AHC, but you wouldn't believe how many people out there don't know about us!
Ways you can help:
- Tell your friends and neighbors about our programs and events. Bring them with you the next time you visit.
- Write a review about us on Google Places
- Write a review about us on Yelp
- If you carry a mobile device and use foursquare, check in at the AHC every time you visit. If you are a regular volunteer or board member, "check-in" each time and compete to become the "Mayor"!
- Volunteer to help us hang posters and distribute postcards for special events to library branches, coffee shops and retailers in your neighborhood.
