Support the Oregon Cultural Trust!
The Oregon Cultural Trust supports the AHC through grant funding. Support the Trust and donate by June 30, 2011
Fewer than 10 days remain to help the Oregon Cultural Trust reach a fundraising goal. Last month, the Trust challenged Oregonians to raise $630,000 in new donations by June 30 to support of Oregon culture. That will mean a record $1.7 million dollars in grants to be issued next month for heritage, humanities and arts organizations across the state.
"You are Oregon Heritage. You are Culture. This is your opportunity to make a gift to the Cultural Trust that expresses the value of Oregon culture in your life," says Trust manager Kimberly Howard.
"Every gift matters. No gift is too small. And the Cultural Trust only works if people pay in, by making a donation." |

QUOTES & FACTS
"What we want to conserve, therefore, is the evidence of individual talent and tradition, of liberty and union among successive generations of Americans. We want the signs of where we came from and how we got to where we are, the thoughts that we had along the way and what we did to express the thoughts in action. We want to know the trails that were walked, the battles that were fought, the tools that were made. We want to know the beautiful or useful things that were built and the originality that was shown, the adaptations that were made and the grace-notes to life that were sounded. We want to know the experiments in community living that were tried and the lessons that were taught by a brave failure as well as by a brave success. It is all these things and more like them that we want to keep before our eyes as part of our lived life as a people, and as connecting links between a past which millions of Americans helped make and a future we must continue to make."
-Sidney Hyman With Heritage so Rich [1966]

Sustaining Contributions
Did you know that you can support the AHC on an ongoing basis by signing up to have a monthly contribution from your checking account or your credit card? No muss, no fuss, and hardly any paperwork. A very "green" solution which means that all of your contribution can go towards saving the buildings you love. Your sustaining donation can begin at any time that works for you, be in any amount of $5.00 per month or larger, and will help provide a predictable base of month-to-month operating funds that are so greatly needed. Call or email Holly Chamberlain for more information at 503-231-7264 or hollyc@VisitAHC.org.
Thanks very much!

Help us spread the word!
Help us spread the word to all of the people in Portland who love old buildings, history, good education, exhibits, and more. We know all of you are loyal supporters of the AHC, but you wouldn't believe how many people out there don't know about us!
Ways you can help:
- Tell your friends and neighbors about our programs and events. Bring them with you the next time you visit.
- Write a review about us on Google Places
- Write a review about us on Yelp
- If you carry a mobile device and use foursquare, check in at the AHC every time you visit. If you are a regular volunteer or board member, "check-in" each time and compete to become the "Mayor"!
- Volunteer to help us hang posters and distribute postcards for special events to library branches, coffee shops and retailers in your neighborhood.

Memories of our Founders
Do you have a recollection of Jerry or Ben that you would like to share for publication or for our archives? Please contact Holly Chamberlain at hollyc@VisitAHC.org or 503-231-7264. Many thanks to those who have already sent in the reminiscences that help round out our organizational history. |

Does your employer match gifts?
Many companies double or even triple gifts to non-profits...including membership dollars! The AHC's parent company, the Bosco-Milligan Foundation, is already registered with a number of companies as a recognized non-profit, and we are happy to do so with more. Check with your employer's human resources or community involvement office to find out if you have access to a matching program. For not much paperwork, you can make your gift to the AHC go even farther! Thanks!
