Heritage Home Tour, Saturday, July 31 -- Volunteer positions are filled! If you're not volunteering for this event, be sure to buy a ticket and tour the homes.
Heritage Auction, October 16 -- Our annual gala needs many volunteers. There's a job just right for you -- behind the scenes, day of event, procurement, dessert collector, cashier, ticket sales.

Donation wish list
| We are so lucky to have generous supporters like all of you. All levels of support and participation in our programs are important and significant.
For those who prefer to make product donations, here a few things we could use at the center.
-Ground coffee for the kitchen.
-A small toaster.
-Windows PC Desktop computers. [Windows XP or Vista.]
-Rolling CPU holders

Call to artists

AHC Art exhibits are open to our business members, their employees, and our general membership. Our beautiful building offers an ideal location for presentation of 2 dimensional art and is a great place to invite your clients, family, and friends for an opening reception.
We are currently booking shows for 2011 and invite our artist community to apply for a show.
Corporate members: please pass this invitation along to painters, photographers and other 2d artists within your organization so everyone can enjoy the benefits of your membership.

This weekend is the long awaited Heritage Home Tour! Purchase your Tickets Now for this great event!
I had an opportunity to see most of the homes last week, and I must tell you that the pictures can't do them justice. If you love seeing inside old homes, you must go on this tour! Attendees are in for some treats including fantastic gardens, diversity of architectural styles and beautiful home furnishings.

This is an unprecedented opportunity to view homes designed by a handful of Portland's most notable architects spanning a century of styles. Architects include: Edward Thomas Root, Ellis F. Lawrence, Brookman, Marvin Witt and Pietro Belluschi.

Spotlight:  In 1980, ceramist and painter, Michael Pratt, and Reta Larson,
a textile artist and incessant home remodeler, began Pratt & Larson
Ceramics. Pratt & Larson was among the first of a new wave of small
companies producing original tile designs for national distribution. In 28 years, the company has
grown from two artists working in a home basement studio to over 130 people
working together to produce the nearly 1000 items that make up the Pratt &
Larson product line. In 1990 they opened a full service showroom and were one of the first home
improvement businesses in the Central Eastside Industrial District. Pratt & Larson Tile and Stone offers a large selection
of handcrafted artisan tile, glass, metal, contemporary porcelain, natural
stone and slabs. The showroom is open to homeowners, designers and industry

Auction Donation Highlights
Seeking Wine Donations for 2010 Heritage Auction
Since introducing the "Wall of Wine" at the 2008 Heritage Auction, we have discovered we have a number of wine connoisseurs amongst us, and we are now gathering donated bottles for this year's "Wall of Wine." White, red or bubbly -- we don't discriminate, but we promise purchasers a retail value of at least $20.
If you have a few spare bottles lying around, or a cellar that's bulging at the seams, we'd be happy to take those extras off your hands. We are also seeking case donations to be served with dinner. If you, or someone you know, has a connection to a wine distributor, vineyard, etc. that would be willing to donate the wine for dinner, please contact Kori Koppen (hyperlink to my email). We'd be happy to give the business donor a sponsorship in exchange for the in-kind donation. And, of course, donations are tax deductible.
Auction tickets are on sale now for the 2010 "Riches of a City" Heritage Auction, this year's theme, Preserving Traditions. Mid-Year Challenge: The Glass is half full!
Thanks to many generous donors, we are happy to announce that we are more than half of the way toward matching $20,000 pledged by board members for our Mid-year Challenge!
Through August 31, any donations above and beyond membership, plus new and lapsed memberships, will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000! Contributions in any amount are welcome.
Your support is crucial and will have immediate impact as we craft our programs and activities for the remainder of 2010. Thanks to the board members who created the matching fund, and to all who are filling, and will keep filling, the glass!
