Business Member Spotlight
AHC Business Members provide products and services pertinent to historic preservation and period-authentic renovation, and they support the mission and goals of our organization. Please consult the Resource Directory on our website and patronize these businesses first when you need professional services for your home projects. Spotlight: In 1980, ceramist and painter, Michael Pratt, and Reta Larson,
a textile artist and incessant home remodeler, began Pratt & Larson
Ceramics. Pratt & Larson was among the first of a new wave of small
companies producing original tile designs for national distribution. In 28 years, the company has
grown from two artists working in a home basement studio to over 130 people
working together to produce the nearly 1000 items that make up the Pratt &
Larson product line. In 1990 they opened a full service showroom and were one of the first home
improvement businesses in the Central Eastside Industrial District. Pratt & Larson Tile and Stone offers a large selection
of handcrafted artisan tile, glass, metal, contemporary porcelain, natural
stone and slabs. The showroom is open to homeowners, designers and industry
professionals working with budgets of all sizes. In addition to providing incredible customer service to homeowners they also offer
special services for design professionals: product knowledge meetings,
library updates & job samples, and meeting space. We asked Susanne Cavicchi about Pratt & Larson's long time commitment to the AHC. " We strongly support the Architectural
Heritage Center/Bosco Milligan Foundation and all your outstanding efforts to preserve
historical architecture and neighborhoods throughout Portland. Restoring
historical art tile is often part of vintage home remodeling projects. We greatly appreciate the AHC's ongoing work to protect and preserve these important historical artifacts for
future generations to enjoy."For more information: www.prattandlarson-or.com; 503-231-9464 |

Did you know our founders?
We are making some changes to our database and want to keep better track of people who had a direct connection with either or both of our founders, Jerry Bosco and Ben Milligan.
Perhaps you are a former student or bought stained glass from them? Maybe you met them at an estate sale? We'd appreciate knowing. Please send an email to hollyc@VisitAHC.org mentioning how you got to know them (and when, if you remember). Thank you!
