Business Member Spotlight
AHC Business Members provide products and services pertinent to historic preservation and period-authentic renovation, and they support the mission and goals of our organization. Please consult the Resource Directory on our website and patronize these businesses first when you need professional services for your home projects. Spotlight:
"Minis by Alice" is a venture by long time AHC member, Alice Duff. She recreates her clients favorite rooms or scenes in 1" scale: one inch = one foot. Remember Grandma's kitchen or Grandpa's workshop? Alice can recreate it for you in a lovely miniature room for display in your home. Or, create a miniature of your living room to set on your coffee table. Her works are great conversation pieces! Alice Duff has been an individual member of AHC almost since its inception, but recently became a business member. In recent years, she has volunteered for the Kitchen Revival Tour, house tours, and the annual auction. "I think volunteering in the community is important," she says, "and the AHC has such interesting things at which to volunteer!" You can learn more about Mini's by Alice by emailing her at minisbyalice@yahoo.com and you
can also find her brochure in the rack at AHC. |

Beer Tasting and Dinner
This past weekend was the beer tasting event that was auctioned off at the 2009 Heritage Auction. This has been a very popular event in past years and tickets for this year's event sold out.

And a special thank you to all of you who purchased tickets and to our gracious hosts, Vic and Lauren Clarke for donating their most beautiful home and garden for the evening.
If you missed out, make sure you get your tickets to the 2010 auction so you have a chance to win many wonderful events, services, and products.

Did you know our founders?
We are making some changes to our database and want to keep better track of people who had a direct connection with either or both of our founders, Jerry Bosco and Ben Milligan.
Perhaps you are a former student or bought stained glass from them? Maybe you met them at an estate sale? We'd appreciate knowing. Please send an email to hollyc@VisitAHC.org mentioning how you got to know them (and when, if you remember). Thank you!

PRESERVATION QUOTES
Donovan Rypkema: "...when [Richard Moe] does decide to retire, I think it's time to acknowledge a reality in the American preservation movement - that it overwhelmingly owes its existence and success to the efforts of women. The next National Trust president should be a woman."
