The 12th annual Kitchen Revival tour includes a selection of fabulous houses dating from 1910 - 1958. Tour goers will see original kitchens and sensitive renovations, modest homes and architect build homes.

Internship opportunities at the AHC

The AHC is looking for qualified interns to work on a variety of daily activities and special projects this year. Current positions are posted for spring terms, and we have just announced a new intern position to assist us with our social media efforts. If you are interested in learning about volunteer opportunities at the Architectural Heritage Center, please join us at our next Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, March 13, from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

We regularly accept applications for
exhibitions and a First Friday reception from artists who are members
of the AHC. Our art exhibitions represent a variety of mediums and
subject matter, and are a great way for our members to share their work with the public.

Portland's "Versatile Stylist": The Architectural Legacy of John V. Bennes (Updated Program) Saturday, March 6, 2010 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. General Public: $18 Members: $13
Between 1906-41, John Bennes was one of Portland's most prolific architects. Recent research has helped to define Bennes' place in the architectural history of Portland and Oregon, and new information about him continues to be uncovered. This presentation by Larry Landis, University Archivist at Oregon State University, will explore the rich architectural legacy that Bennes created and share new information about some of his design projects.

NEW EXHIBIT!
"CROSSINGS" Artist and architect, Stephen Korbich JOIN US THIS FRIDAY!
Opening Reception, Friday March 5th 6-8pm Free and open to the public
Architect and artist, Stephen Korbich lives and works in Portland and has used our wonderful cityscape as inspiration for his upcoming show "Crossings".
While he has always been artistic and dabbled in many different mediums, it was not until recently that he decided to pick up the brush in a more dedicated fashion.
He has been working on new pieces for his AHC exhibit for months and his show is sure to please. Make plans to attend his opening reception.

On Exhibit Now! Meyer Memorial Trust Gallery Artifacts + Archives illustrates the essential connection between paper-based archival materials in our collections and the artifacts themselves. This exhibit draws upon the Foundation's ever-expanding artifacts and archives collections, with emphasis on items that have not been seen by the public, including photographs, architectural drawings, maps, personal papers, and rare books. The Portland Plan
The next Portland Plan workshop is scheduled for this month. If you have not attended one of these meetings yet, make sure you have it on your calendar for March. In the meantime, all residents interested in the future of our city and our communities should complete the online survey from the city. The survey can be found here.
