Staff Appreciation Week Thank you to all the parents who brought food, drinks and helped with yard duty for the Staff Luncheon. Everyone enjoyed the food and being able to eat together! If you brought food to the luncheon, please check the office for your platter, plate or tray! GOURMET COOKING CLASS
This is a great summer class for those interested in developing their kitchen skills. Students learn safe cooking skills such as chopping, slicing, mincing, whisking, kneading, pouring, mixing, cutting, rolling, and safe oven and stove top use. The students will develop their basic skills in following directions, team work, sharing, safety and social interaction. They will learn about proper nutrition, the food pyramid, macro and micro nutrients and optimal portions. It will be a delicious class each day. Prior experience is not necessary. Instructor is Judy Schultz.

YAVNEH LAUNCHES HEBREW
PJ LIBRARY
Yavneh Day School is partnering with Sifriyat Pijama to bring you two events where you can enroll your children (ages 3-6) for the Sifriyat Pijama B'America program. Sifriyat Pijama delivers popular Hebrew storybooks and music CDs to children free of charge! Thanks to funding from the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the Israeli Leadership Council, and the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley, Bay Area children who register will receive books in the mail, eight times per year. The program's goals are to strengthen Hebrew language skills and to foster connections to our Jewish roots and values. At least one parent must be a native Hebrew speaker to enroll. Distribution begins in September 2012 for families who register at one of the Sifriyat Pijama registration events at Yavneh Day School.

15,000 cute little rubber duckies are going to dive into the stream and race their little hearts out towards the finish line. We are awarding around $10k in prizes for some lucky ducks.
