ISB IS Sought By Media For Muslim Perspective

Stepping into a gaping void, ISB served as a source and provided commentary on Muslim issues to local media that sought to present a genuinely muslim perspective.
- On September 10, 2011, Executive Director Soumaya Khalifa was a guest on The
Local Take, a local news and public affairs coverage segment that airs on 91.9 WCLK- The Jazz of The City, a national public radio station. Khalifa was interviewed by seasoned communications expert Kiplyn Primus to speak about the 10th anniversary of September 11.
- On December 5, 2012, Khalifa discussed the
ISB and its many accomplishment in a televised interview with Angela Harrington Rice, senior executive producer at Atlanta Interfaith Broadcast (AIB). Rice, named one of Atlanta's 100 Top Black Women of Influence by the Atlanta Business League in February 2010, is the host of "A Woman's Place," Atlanta's longest running women's television show.
- In February, 2012, ISB's interfaith efforts were highlighted in Azizah Magazine, a
national publication with a focus on American Muslim women. Khalifa was interviewed in an article that focussed on efforts that "promote an environment of peace and interfaith cooperation." "It is important for people to break down barriers and misperceptions about others through dialogue. Once engaged in a dialogue, it always amazes me how similar people are despite their differences," said Khalifa.
