The Key to YOUR Online Success
These days, there seems to be app for almost everything. Want to keep track of your business and travel expenses? Find the exact coordinates of the moon rise (an app I learned about from a photographer!) Catch and collect virtual butterflies? Well, you can find that one here in this issue, just scroll down.
I do wish that I could send you a link to the app that adds a key
to your keyboard like the one in the photo above. One that would, with a single keystroke, bring you instant online success. But unfortunately, I haven't found one of those just yet. For now, I will continue to bring you tips and suggestions to help you get there on your own!
To help you get there a bit faster, starting this month, in each newsletter issue, I will include a section featuring one of my client's 'Success Stories'. I think that these real-life examples, including actual profiles and e-newsletter samples, from clients of mine that are finding success online, will help YOU better understand how YOU can use these tools more efectively.
The first few segments will focus on clients that have found E-newsletters to be helpful in growing their business. Across a wide variety of business types, ranging from Interior Designers to College Advisors, Editors to Office Equipment Providers and a mix of other retail and service providers in between, each has found that their E-newsletter has helped them grow their bottom line. They have generously allowed me to profile them here. Hopefully their examples will help and inspire YOU.

 Helpful tips and updates...
This update falls under the category of "it is definitely worth sending feedback to companies because sometimes they really do listen"
We all love it when people forward our e-newsletters but sometimes, the recipient does not appreciate the forward and they hit the 'unsubscribe' link. Until now, that meant that the recipient effectively unsubscribed the original sender - a real drag!
Well, Constant Contact has finally come up with a solution!
Now, when someone decides to unsubscribe from your list, they will be asked to enter their email address - if the address they submit does not match the one on your list, the original contact will not be removed.
We really LOVE it when companies address our issues. Thank you!

More Facebook Updates!
If you are a Facebook regular, you may have already seen some of these but here are a few more updates to keep an eye out for:
- Video Chat (again, to keep up with G+ but hey, it's a fun new feature, we'll take it!)
- Ability to veto a photo tag BEFORE it is published - definitely a plus!
- Here is a useful post, from FB about tagging
- You can now set your WordPress blog posts to automatically be sent to your wall. (Please think twice before you use this and double check to make sure that you are not double posting!)
- If you are an Admin for multiple Pages, you will be getting alerts, specific to each page, in the left sidebar. I do not have this yet but am eagerly awaiting it!

Facebook updates are rolling out faster than we can mention them!
In one of those examples of how healthy competition can be good for the customer, Facebook has been rolling out updates like crazy to keep up with G+. Whether you use G+ or not, if you are a Facebook user, you are coming out a winner!

Did you Know?
I am a big Hootsuite fan - I use it for scheduling posts and as a dashboard for quick reviews of all my, or a client's, accounts. I find it pretty reliable and full of useful 'bells and whistles' like the resident URL shortener and the ability to track the shortened URLs.
Recently, an observant HS user (and LMDD e-news reader) Dawn K, noticed that Hootsuite was truncating Linked In posts to 140 characters, even though Linked In allows more than this when you post directly using their interface!
A quick check confirmed that this was not a momentary glitch but is in fact, the HS policy. We will write in and request that this be updated and resolved but until then, do keep this in mind!
A big 'Thank you' to Dawn for noticing and bringing it to my attention!

Linked In makes it easier to update your Profile
Linked In has also been sending out updates this summer. One of the most helpful is a new 'checklist' to let you know what you might be missing in your profile.

Want to Catch Virtual Butterflies - Yes, there is an app for that!
While this is not a productivity enhancing application it is really creative and unique! If you haven't already seen it, you may want to take a look at the short video - I found it very inspiring. I always find it refreshing to see how creative people use new technology to make our world a bit more fun and colorful!
