Here is the top Facebook question I have been getting this month:
"What does it mean to 'subscribe' to someone on FB and should I 'allow' this?"
Interestingly, if you are a 'friend' of someone on FB, you are already 'subscribed' to them - whether you 'allow' subscriptions or not.

The Ten Commandments of Video SEO
Here is a link to an excellent whitepaper created by LATERGY, LLC filled with tips on how to tap into the power of Video Search Engine Optimization. As they say in the promo, 'apply these principles and your content will work for you 24/7'

More on QR codes...
Last month I included a link to a QR code generator, an online app that allows you to quickly and easily create a QR (Quick Response) code for any web address and a link to a service that will print these codes on stickers.
This month, I want to offer some ideas on how to use them:
- On Business Cards - taking someone to your contact info or a resume
- In printed brochures and catalogs - taking people to a page with more info or, better yet, a video of the product in use
- On a trade show display - linking to a video of the product in use
- On a wine label - linking to a video of the winemaker explaining how the vineyard's 'terroir' has transformed the grapes or to recipes to enjoy with this particular vintage.
- Under a piece of artwork on exhibit - to explain the inspiration for the piece, define the materials used or to include an interview with the artist.
Please keep in mind that sending people to a DEDICATED LANDING page is always preferable. For example, an interior designer could add a QR code to a fabulous image of her Corporate Interior work and rather than just linking to her Website Home Page, she could link to the page dedicated to her Corporate Interior services.
Here are some good articles with more ideas and suggestions:

Linked In Company Pages
Now with status updates!
Linked In company pages have been available for quite a while. Like a profile page for your business, these 'pages' are really a series of pages with tabs and images, allowing you to create a mini website right on Linked In. There are multiple formatting options, allowing you to feature Services and/or Products including a short description and image of each. As I have said in the past, Linked In values recommendations so they have made it easy for you to get recommendations for each of these as well. There are links to all employees' Linked In profiles and you can post, for a fee, any job openings available. |

I usually use this space to feature cool new technologies that you may want to consider using in your own marketing efforts. The video above is a display of how LEGO is using augmented reality in their packaging.
While this may not be cost effective enough for us to use anytime soon, it is a very cool peek into the not too distant future.
