Choosing the online marketing tools and social media sites that are right for YOU
FaceBook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Twitter, Foursquare, YELP - the dizzying array of online networking sites grows almost daily. And then there are the online marketing tools like Constant Contact to add to the mix. Business owners have never had such a wide assortment of free and low cost marketing options yet this abundance of riches can often cause an abundance of confusion.
Most business owners now understand that online marketing is an easy and affordable way to share their message, establish their expertise and to grow their business. They see the case studies and know that online and social media marketing is something that they need to pursue. Then they see all the choices and don't know where to begin!

Do you use @gmail?
Recently, there were some reports of @gmail.com users saying that links in their emails were not 'hot'.
The reports, from various sources, said that @gmail users were not able to 'click' on certain links in emails (including e-newsletters) and be connected directly to the web - they had to copy and paste the address, or type it directly, into the URL bar.
The problem links included any web address with a capital letter after the http:// prefix - for example, http://LisaMarieDiasDesigns.comwould not be live, but
WOULD work.
I have tested this by delivering a number of emails to my gmail address, using a few different formats and have NOT had a problem. If you are a gmail user and HAVE experienced this problem, please do let me know.
And to avoid any problems, place the lowercase 'www.' before any capitalized website addresses or use all lower case letters when creating your 'hot' links.

E-News Hints and Tips
You can now add captions to your images in Constant Contact!
Constant Contact has recently rolled out a few new options that are really quite helpful. The first, the ability to add a caption to a photo is, something that everyone will be sure to appreciate!
If you have ever tried to do this manually, and struggled mightily to get the spacing to read correctly, you will love how easy they have made this!
Here is an example of a caption
 |
You just add the caption when you add the image and voila, it appears! You can change the font color, justification (left, right or centered) and size, just like any other font, once it is in the document.
Be creative and use it to indicate a product description and price or even directions ("click on the image above...")
A great, and easy to use, new feature!
