LisaMarie Dias Designs Newsletter February 2010
LisaMarie Dias Designs

A monthly publication designed to support all aspects of  your online marketing efforts.  Full of practical tips, useful suggestions  and hopefully, even some inspiration!

Is this thing working?

This month I will address a key question that I often receive, about both e-newsletter and social media campaigns, "How do I know if this is working?"

When I work with a client, one of our first conversations will be about defining your goals for your online marketing efforts. I suggest that you set goals for yourself before you start your campaign so you will have both a focus for your efforts as well as something to monitor.

The results are in!

LisaMarie Dias

Last month, I asked readers to let me know if they would like me to include my Social Media hints and tips in this E-Newsletter or if I should create a separate Social Media E-News.

The results were unanimous - everyone that responded requested that the Social Media hints be included in this E-Newsletter.

So, as you can see by the new byline above, this E-Newsletter will now be all about supporting all aspects on your online marketing efforts!

Please do let me know how I can help!

Hints and Tips
Tracking your results

With your E-Newsletter:
Constant Contact has very useful metrics. Think about and plan the links you include in your e-newsletter and use the information you receive to ensure that you are offering your readers content and offers that they are interested in.

When posting on Social Media Sites:
Use a site like http://bit.ly/ to shorten your web links - the site provides metrics, similar to Constant Contact's where you can see who else posted, ReTweeted or shared the link.

It's working!

"I want you to know how much people seemed to love this newsletter. I got calls from 2 real estate brokers, who were on the email list, wanting to meet for lunch! "- this from my client Heather Higgins, Interior Designer and Principal of Higgins Design Studio, LLC of NYC

Heather has only published three issues but is already seeing a positive response and concrete leads.  These are the types of returns you too can get on your e-newsletter investment!

Click here to see Heather's last issue and to learn more about her beautiful design work.

If you have been considering starting an e-newsletter, or would like to see better results from the e-newsletter you are publishing, we can help. Call (973.275.9497) or email to get started today! [email protected]

New Changes on Constant Contact
More than just a new look!

If you have logged onto Constant Contact recently, you will have noticed that they have a whole new look. While I am not a big fan of the beige background, I have found a few good upgrades that are definite improvements.

  • You can now change the color of your hyperlinks as you add them to your documents.  The changes will only apply (be readable) in certain browsers but is certainly a plus!
  • You can now upload images up to 350kb in size before they automatically compress them - this should allow for sharper images and logos!
  • When working with images, instead of "float left" and "float right" they refer to it as  "align left" and "align right" - probably a bit easier to understand!
