For a look that is on trend, pair colored tights with peep-toe heels.  Belt a cardigan over a dress and add a colorful or embellished hat.  Look for plaids in jackets and pants and geometric print dresses and wear them with high contrast color to make a bold statement.  To ground the look, use a basic and slimming color such as black or brown for the tights or a slim layering tee.  A pair of sturdy boots with same colored tights will do the same.  Wear a belt with a parka to slim it and mark your waist.  

And use long necklaces and dangle earrings to lengthen the look, bold colored or textured stones to add uniqueness, and remember to set off your neckline and shoulders with a necklace that draws attention to your face.
